Symlinks seemed to do the trick. Initially they didn't, but I found out that Synology disables them by default for shared folders. Once I enabled them for SMB in my NAS everything worked as expected.

Re: MiSTer Extensions - Remote
There's a few ways to work around this: I'd suggest trying out symlinks first to the official names. I'm pretty sure remote will still accept a symlink and scan them. But please try it on one games folder first and test before you go to the trouble of making 50 symlinks. I can add a section to the remote.ini file where you can specify the alternat...

Re: MiSTer Extensions - Remote
Is there any way to expose/change what folders the script uses to search for games? Most of my games are in a NAS mounted through CIFS, I can't find a way to index those. It should index "/media/fat/cifs" and "/media/fat/cifs/games" as they're the standard folders. Are you using a different folder for the mount? I can always ad...

Re: A problem is the game called Bastard on MSX.
It's possible the DSK is bunk but I can't find any information anywhere about this bug or know where to get alternate dumps of this thing. Is there other things I can try? like alternate settings in case this is due to something else besides the disk? All the dumps in TOSEC for this game are shit. I was in the same situation as you, ended up purch...

Re: Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure Loads the Music Too Fast
Nevermind, this seems to be an issue with the English version of the song. The Japanese song works fine. I managed to load the song from the disc, and the first flashes aren't synchronised in English, but they are synchronised in Japanese (you can switch languages in the menu). The song loses sync over time, but that might as well be my console. I ...

Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure Loads the Music Too Fast
I was playing this game in real hardware, but loading it through a PSIO and found out that the musical segments where not synchronised properly, so I gave the MiSTer a try. It actually runs slightly better, but still far from perfect. Easiest way to see it is with the song "Evil Queen", where both the beginning and the ending should have ...

Re: EMM386 parameters
Isn't 617 k way more than needed? What is your goal, do you have any problem with a problem with a specific game?! I don't want more memory, I want to set a frame page, that many games do require. For example, One Must Fall 2097 will crash as soon as I pick a robot (but will play the demo combat fine). Getting ~600KB is usually enough. Dragon Lore...

Re: EMM386 parameters
Well, I've tried every address I could think of, I couldn't get a proper page frame working. Jemmex gave me the same sort of problem, and QEMM, as some others have mentioned in the forum, doesn't currently work with the core (in my case it fails during the second run of OPTIMIZE). I get plenty of conventionaal memory (617KB), but that's it. I guess...

Re: EMM386 parameters
I'd appreciate it. I haven't had much luck with JEMMEX with the core, but I only gave it a quick test a couple of versions ago.

EMM386 parameters
Hello, I've been checking the forums to see what people have been using to deal with expanded memory under DOS. I've seen a few examples, and I've tried with my usual settings, but I keep getting problems in games that I assume are related to my configuration. If I load EMM386.EXE simply as "DEVICE=C:\DOS\EMM386.EXE" it will complain abou...

Re: CD-Rom support under DOS
vide-cdd doesn't react properly on errors. It should issue "GET SENSE (03)" command to clear the pending error but it doesn't, so it gets error forever on every read command. Thank you for confirming that I'm not crazy! For the moment, I've just disabled 4DOS, but I thought I might mention that issue in case anyone else is dealing with i...

Re: CD-Rom support under DOS
It must be my machine then. I've used oakcdrom, vide-cdd and teac-cdi. The same drivers I use in my actual machines. oakcdrom works fine, vide-cdd loads fine but then gives the "not ready" message when trying to access the drive, and teac-cdi can't find a suitable drive at all during boot. It's not a big deal, since I'm loading the driver...

Re: CD-Rom support under DOS
Well, I don't know what happened the last time I used OAKCDROM.SYS that prevented it from working (had the same DRIVE NOT READY error), but using it this time worked, with and without EMM386.EXE. It's possible that VIDE-CDD.SYS simply doesn't work with MiSTer at the moment?

Re: CD-Rom support under DOS
I can't get the CD-ROM to work. I've used simple config.sys and autoexec.bat based on the ones I use in my actual 486. Everything seems to work during boot, but it doesn't matter whether I mount an ISO, a bin file, or anything else in 1-0, I get a "NOT READY READING DRIVE D" error. This is my current config.sys. I've tried both OAKCDROM.S...
