Re: Multiple Custom Controller Layouts in a Single Core

I dunno man, the majority of people with a MiSTer also own several controllers (not counting duplicates I probably have close to ten), to recreate playing various consoles as accurately as possible. I'd say the amount of MiSTer owners who want to play everything with just a single controller are an extremely small number based on everything I've ev...

Re: Multiple Custom Controller Layouts in a Single Core

Get an N64 controller then you don't have to worry LOL. Yeah, that doesn't help... Why should I spend upwards of $50 on an OOS hard to get controller, that i dont like, just to play a handful of games, that already work fine - if i could set a custom controller layout per game. As it is now, I just avoid any games that use the Z button or both the...

Re: I want to design the perfect "catch all" controller for MiSTer and emulation

Most people who own a MiSTer either...

A)Use original console controllers
B)Use numerous controllers that replicate the look/feel of specific consoles

There are already a lot of controllers available that work well for multiple types of games, so thinking that there is a market for just ONE controller for ALL games is a bit unrealistic.

The core should be public now, but after update_all it is still “yellow” and unplayable.
How do I fix it?

Are you a Patreon member? I am, and I think in the past when these betas have gone public I've had to sometimes delete the old rbf/mra for the core and then run update_all to start fresh

You do get it through update all.

You get the standard PSX core, not the "Turbo" one for patron members

You are gonna pay over $800CDN to order a pre- built?? You can buy the parts separately and put one together for around $600 yourself

Even crazier are the people who think the price will go back down 😂

It's probably quite simple when you know how.

It is. I just Googled "transfering ROMs to MiSTer" and this was the first result https://mister-devel.github.io/MkDocs_M ... tup/games/

Re: Just Starting Out With MiSTer Some Basic Questions?

Go on YouTube and look for "MiSTer FPGA setup" videos, there are dozens, and they will show you what to do step by step. Far easier to do it that way than posting individual questions. The videos on there seem to be ones about putting roms onto the SD card. It's also possible to download them straight to the MiSTer via Lan, isn't it? Lea...

Re: Is the Noctua Fan Quiet? What Are Other Ways of Reducing Noise on MiSTer?

There is no stock fan. There's only what each individual vendor decides to use. The socket is for a 40x10mm fan, but what fan actually gets put there depends on who you buy it from. Legacypixels, for instance, uses lousy sleeve bearing fans, which are loud and will typically fail within a year or so. Mine didn't last five months. I've had one of h...

Thanks for the update, glad to hear you've solved! Have you tried re-upgrading that controller to the latest firmware version, after downgrading it? Re: 8Bitdo Pro 2 Wired Controller Not Working

I've tested my fully up-to-date wired Pro 2, trying to replicate the conditions you've described; the controller didn't show any weird symptoms, even when intensively using the rumble function. Excluding the game, I'd think of an issue with either the USB hub or the controller itself, I'm afraid... a weak power supply might be a remotely plausible...

I'm wondering if it has something to do with the rumble motor, I can't imagine anything else in there drawing much power I tried plugging it in again and got the green blinking lights on the USB hub. I have a wired Pro 2 too, and after updating it to the latest firmware recently it still works in my mister Actually it works better now, as you don't need any longer to press the B button while plugging it in; it's now the controller default behavior. 8Bitdo Pro 2 Wired Controller Not Working

Yo! I have had one of these controllers for several months and it works perfectly, assuming you hold down B when you plug it in. I recently bought a new one, and before using it with MiSTer, I plugged it into my PC and upgraded the firmware (something I haven't done with my original, working one). Now when I plug the new controller into my USB hub,...

Re: RetroUSB USB to SNES Adapter Issue

I have the same adapter and it only works if I have it, and possibly one other USB device, plugged into the USB hub at the same time.

I think it draws a lot of current or something, and doesn't play nice when it and multiple other USB devices are plugged into the MiSTer.
