Re: Mega CD BIOS Seems to Work, but I Can’t Launch Any Games?

My MegaCD is working well and I've been trying out all sorts of great games I'd not spent a lot of time with like Thunderhawk and Batman Returns. My working setup looks like this: /media/fat/games/MegaCD/ Europe/ Japan/ USA/ boot.rom In each country folder I have a cd_bios.rom e.g. /media/fat/games/MegaCD/USA/cd_bios.rom In each country folder I ha...

Re: Amiga Vision (Formally MegaAGS?)

This is good news, it always felt like trying to find an update was hacking the internet.
In case you're looking for new feature ideas, I'm still in the market for an option to create a stripped-back library of games and demos.

Great to see a Mastodon link on the page, too! I gave you a follow on there.

Re: How to Strip Down MEGA-AGS?

Creating new lists manually is easy. You need 3 files for a game you want to add: *.iff - Image file of the game *.run - Run file with command lines to load game *.txt - Text file with the game information (Title, Developer, Publisher etc..) These 3 files can be found in all the folders that end with '.ags' inside the main AGS2 drawer on the Amiga...

Re: Certain Games Don’t Sync With MiSTerCade and Arcade Monitor

Not sure about their resolution but i just tested these on my CRT cab and Tetris (Atari) works great but Pang seems to boot OK but won't actually start - there's nothing to display. I tested this on my other MISTer, connected to an LCD TV and it gives a "No HDMI signal". So, I think Tetris is the one to focus on. I see from the online dat...

How to Strip Down MEGA-AGS?

Hi Amiga lovers and SMEs, I'd like to put a few of my favourite Amiga arcade games on my cabinet. The cabinet doesn't have a keyboard or mouse and I'd like to leverage MEGA-AGS' superb controller friendly interface but with only my favourites. I'd like to save the space on the memory card and not have the unwanted games there - so a filter is no go...

Re: MiSTer IO Controller Problems - Wired or BT [SOLVED]

Sounds like everything so far with your controllers has been going through the same suspect I/O board. Get it out of the mix. It is possible it may have a critical fault of some sort. You may even need to unplug it from your DE10-Nano just to simplify the setup. I have a couple of $12-$15 MakerSpot micro USB OTG to 4-port USB-A gizmos that plug di...

The timing on this is perfect. I already planned for an Outrun capable control panel on my new arcade cabinet that is almost finished. I am going to use a new old-stock Thrustmaster Grand Prix 1 wheel and convert it to USB along with my USB Act Labs Performance pedals and a IL Eurojoystick for the stick shift. I hope I can get it to work with mult...

Also, don't forget that there were 3 different RAM flavours for games and your settings need to reflect the needs of the game. I've got my games divided into 3K, 8K and 16K directories to remind me.

Hi Shark,

I just fired up the MISTer and tried a random game: Chariot Race
I typed RUN and it loaded immediately.

Here's a few of my default Core settings that might help:

TV Mode: PAL
Scale: Normal
EXTRAM 1: $0400 (3KB)
EXTRAM 2: $2000-$7FFF (24KB)
EXTRAM 3: $A000 (8KB)

You're going to kick yourself (I know I did) but just type RUN after you've loaded the prg.

FYI:
To load a TAP image, choose the OSD menu option - Tape Play/Pause
Then load the .tap
The Vic should display "SEARCHING"

MiSTer IO Controller Problems - Wired or BT

I'm really struggling with my MISTer and controllers. I've had a MISTer (with IO board) for a couple of years and, whether it's wired controllers, keyboards or bluetooth, the connection is so flaky! Bluetooth will work about 30% of the time but often fixed with a check of the connectors and a reboot. It's random whether I get a few minutes or a few...

One of my favourite arcade games - many thanks Pierco!

I downloaded it as part of Update All and I've been playing it all morning. Seems to be spot on.

However, I notice that the Reset options - "Reset" and "Reset & Close OSD" do not work, is this deliberate?

So, you're KVM will also switch the spinner and trackball to the MISTerCade? Let me know if this works...

Out of interest, do you have your spinner and trackball mounted on your panel? I've wanted a spinner for ages but don't want to mess with my panel.

That sounds like a much simpler problem than mine, though the CHAMMA aspect of the MISTerCade doesn't seem to be that well documented. I don't think you'll do any harm giving it a try.

Also, thanks for introducing me to the RiddledTV 2-way JAMMA switcher, I had no idea such a thing exists!

Re: MiSTercade Button 4,5,6 Hookup? [Solved]

Hi zorrobandito, Did the CHAMMA switch allow you to use buttons 4/5/6 on the JAMMA connector? With wiring as follows: P1B4 -> pin 25, P1B5 -> pin 26, P1B6 -> pin 27, P2B4 -> pin c, P2B5 -> pin d, P2B6 -> pin e. I see in another post you ended up using the CPS1 kick harness but I was looking at using a 'J-PAC-C' version so that has buttons 4-6 on t...

Here's how I solved it: Problem : How to hook up the additional 3 buttons to the MISTerCade while preserving the pre-existing JAMMA harness and J-PAC + groovymame option? What Would Capcom Do? Capcom had an additional wiring harness for their 6 button games. CPS1 is the simplest. Solution : Wire up a CPS1 connector. Thanks to some helpful advice an...

Hi everyone,

Where and how is the best place/way to report bugs in arcade cores? Or look for currently tracked bugs?

Apologies for the noob question.

E.g. I'm seeing corruption in SSF2 and a possible glitch in Defender.

Six Button JAMMA Cabinet + MiSTerCade + J-PAC & PC [Solved]

I have an Australian LAI 26" CRT cabinet. The original control panel was configured for 2 players and six buttons. The cabinet uses a standard JAMMA connector and the extra three buttons are wired to a molex connector. 10+ years ago I added a J-PAC encoder and a PC running a front-end and groovyMAME. The extra 3 buttons were wired to the extra...

Also one of the rare cases where the Amiga home conversion is even better than the original arcade game.
I didn't give it a lot of time back then but played the hell out of Sales Curve's other arcade-more-than-perfect Silkworm. Clearly they had some coding wizards on the team!

Re: MiSTercade Button 4,5,6 Hookup? [Solved]

After a fair amount of additional internet research, I've concluded that I should probably wire up btns 4, 5, 6 to the JAMMA connector and enable the CHAMMA switch on the MISTerCade, rather than introducing a CPS1/2 connector which I don't actually need for any boards. This does hamper my ability to switch back and forth between the MISTerCade and ...

MiSTercade Button 4,5,6 Hookup? [Solved]

Hi all, My JAMMA cabinet has Btn 1,2,3 hooked up to the JAMMA connecter but a molex connector for the additional buttons. In the distant past I ran some individual wires from the molex connector directly to the terminals on the J-Pac and all was well. However, it seems that the Mistercade only has two options: Through the JAMMA or via CPS1-2 kick h...
