Re: Need help setting up connection to a CRT

You dont get sound out of the VGA at all. You will need to get another cable from the 3.5 mm line out or better still get a dac and connect it to the same port where it will be using the optical out

Re: PWM on 18-bit DAC to get 24-bit Color

Thanks so much again! Any chance of downloading older saturn builds of this? I just ran the update to get the newest Saturn (added the ini line to make this automatic for pwm cores) but noticed that now they seem to have removed forced_scandoubler from the saturn core. I think I might want to revert to an older build just so I can have that featur...

Re: Neo Geo Pocket

/bootrom is a very old way of doing it on a Mister.

We are just going to have to wait for the code to become public and another dev add loading of roms as per the other console cores.

Re: Atari Jaguar Core

@Rchester Are you using the Greyrougoe code as a source? Otherwise we've got so many builds, everyones fixing this and that, and there's only one official build. Thanks!! Yes, though it's news to me there's any 'official' build. From what I've seen, there are fitter problems that affect AvP on a compile-to-compile basis. There is hence those zips ...

Re: Some PSX PAL Games Don't Work

so
1) remove all psx config files from /config
2) delete the core and redownload it
3) Obtain a redump image of the game
4) Ensure you have a proper set of bios images and the sbi.zip file
5) Perform all tests via HDMI to a HDMI device with nothing else in the display chain. No switches etc

Re: Some PSX PAL Games Don't Work

well if he hasnt got the sbi.zip and isnt using a redump version of the game it does. The Main dev is German and I cant believe he and the other users of the core who speak German have missed such a major game being broken. Looking back to the other thread he is referencing a collection that includes the sbi info. I think the core was tested on the...

Re: Some PSX PAL Games Don't Work

Well it certainly used to be there it downloaded sbi.zip to the root of the PSX games Folder. And from there it works without splitting the zip and adding to individual folders. It has been many months since I set up the PSX core but I doubt I created a sbi.zip manually From the script being called declare -A PSX_BIOS=( \ ["boot.rom"]=&qu...

Re: Some PSX PAL Games Don't Work

no update all pulls a single sbi.zip file which works withot being unzipped into a games directory. The github is referring to the main distribuition, hence it also mentions getting the bios. Update all can retreive these or it certainly did when configured

Retro-Nerd wrote: Sun Jan 19, 2025 8:48 pm

Actually not. You have to provide them manually.

"Some games are secured with Libcrypt and will not work if it's not circumvented.
You can provide a .sbi file to do that. If there is a .sbi file next to a .cue with the same name, it is loaded automatically when mounting the CD image."

Update all pulls a sbi.zip and so it just works

SD cards have 0 wear levelling. That just doesnt exist for them.

I am supremely confident this statement is not true.

I believed it to be only for industrial and surveliance SD cards. And you can be almost certain those are not in the majority of Misters. So yes you are correct.

Re: OSD and RESET buttons (wired to GPIO pins) used to work.. now only work in some cores?

Not sure what to say, other than it's a localized problem. With MiSTer main md5sum 9b9ca1f704d40f6e6d167512abc912ee (dated Dec 27 12:11), my hardware buttons function as expected on the main menu (Reset resets, OSD flips between the two menus, and User does nothing) and they also work as expected in all cores. I want to be wrong, but it sounds lik...

Re: Has There Been a Solution to MiSTer Not Auto Saving Game Data?

As others have mentioned, the Zaparoo workaround is probably the way to go. Having seen your post the other day, I agree with you that when you're setting up MiSTer for someone else or for kids, the way it works currently is not ideal. I doubt Sorg would go for it, but I do wonder why there can't just be an INI only option (that has to be added ma...

You have fried part of the DE10. That behaviour is caused when the de10 thinks the buttons are being pressed. When you gave it a static shock you damaged the DE10.
