Re: PSX Core Possible to Have Game Specific Settings?

Wow, it's cool you figured out a way to do that. Definitely more involved than I imagined but I might give this a try soon, just to see how it goes.

Thanks!

Re: PS Menu Shaking

Since I've started using the PSX core, I've had this odd issue where the main menu (where you manage memory card/cds) is shaking, like the menu text is flickering up/down quickly. Open the OSD, scroll down to " Video & Audio ", then from within change " Deinterlacing: " from " Bob " to " Weave ". Save se...

PSX Core Possible to Have Game Specific Settings?

This may not be at all feasible but I was wondering if it'd be possible to add an option to save settings for each specific game? I've been messing around with the Turbo mode (seems to help quite a bit on certain scenes in Grandia; like from 22 fps to 30fps even) but on some games it totally borks it (Thousand Arms, for example). It's kind of a pit...

Re: Any reason(s) to use s-video/composite over component, if you have the option?

I couldn’t tolerate composite back in the day of CRTs and the fact that you guys are bringing it back feels like heresy to me. These old TVs can look glorious, but it’s not composite that does it. RGB/component is the only option in my opinion. Isn't it true though that some developers utilized the composite look for blending purposes? I saw a goo...

Re: Any reason(s) to use s-video/composite over component, if you have the option?

What's worse is that every system had its own way of encoding composite. The Genesis/Mega Drive was especially terrible so that dithering was quite effective. An even more extreme example would be a composite PC CGA monitor. I'd wager not all system's composite conversion could produce effects like that, and were' basically only going to get one a...

Re: Any reason(s) to use s-video/composite over component, if you have the option?

Component is a tad sharper than composite, but more importantly it will get rid off all the "bad" natural artifacts you're seeing, and especially the additional ones caused by these adapters & MiSTer's incompatibility. That means any interference, dot crawl, shimmer, what have you. This way the image looks much much better, while sti...

Re: Official Adapter With the DS4 Really as Bad as the Test Findings State?

There's an OSD option, make sure it's set to the one with "Click" showing. https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/PSX_MiSTer/blob/c1a8df2826bb2e1699f96385ece7bee718e121e3/PSX.sv#L373 It's possible your bluetooth adapter might not be compatible? Is it only Bluetooth 2.0? I haven't tested anything that wasn't bluetooth 4.0 or 5.0. Yeah, that's wh...

Any reason(s) to use s-video/composite over component, if you have the option?

So I've been using an older Sharp CRT for a few weeks now (that I got for free from a friend) that only has composite ports. I've been using it with Antonio's adapter and apart from the dot crawl (especially horrible on the Sega cores, for some reason), I've been pretty happy with how it looks (It's a million times better than how it looked on my H...

Re: Official Adapter With the DS4 Really as Bad as the Test Findings State?

Anybody using the DS4 with the 8bitdo adapter should stop doing so. It screws up the compatibility with that controller. The 8bitdo adapter generates it's own product ID and Vendor ID and mister doesn't know you are using a DS4, so I think the track pad doesn't work. I haven't done it in a while but I think also that the rumble might not work and ...

Re: Official Adapter With the DS4 Really as Bad as the Test Findings State?

Is it as bad as it looks? According to the testing it is, which that testing is a closed loop special test with a MiSTer core and in a best case scenario, and done with the MiSTer and an custom PCB with an arduino. Seems accurate to me given that I can feel the results of some of the other controllers on there that are in the mid 20's. Thanks for ...

Re: Jaguar Controller with Daptor

Yep, I can confirm that this works. I haven't used it much yet, and as I recall it took a bit of trial and error to figure out how to get it to work, but it's been flawless so far.

Edit: For the record, I was able to map every single button when I tested it on the Coleco core.

Official Adapter With the DS4 Really as Bad as the Test Findings State?

I've been using my DS4 with the official adapter and it's felt so fast and responsive on the PSX core so far. I was even able to play Um Jammer Lammy without any issues. Granted, I just switched over to a CRT so maybe that has something to do with it. If I decide to go with one of the faster wireless options, is the 8bitdo the best one? I've got on...

Re: Is my USB Hub 2.1 faulty?

The MiSTer USB Hub 2.1 is simply not well designed and there are issues to be expected with it, when you use many devices or power hungry things, like usb powered 2.5" hdds. You may be better off with a normal, professionally implemented USB hub that is powered. See this thread: https://misterfpga.org/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=2116&p=19149 ...

Re: Is my USB Hub 2.1 faulty?

Do you keep the WiFi dongle plugged in at all times? Also from what I remember the USB port next to the power connector on the USB hub can be used to charge certain peripherals maybe try using that port for the most power hungry device. This is the WiFi dongle I use and have never had an issue with it. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PB1X4CN/ I had p...

Re: Is my USB Hub 2.1 faulty?

It does sound like your USB hub may be faulty. Have you tried powering the USB hub and the DE-10 Nano with individual power supplies instead of the Y-Splitter? Also try rearranging the USB peripherals into different ports. I just tried that after your suggestion (used the 4amp PSU for the hub and the stock PSU for the DE-10) and it didn't make a d...

Re: 8bitdo M30 2.4g (DB9 ver.) + 2600-daptor D9? [Solved]

I just got my new PSU so I was going to try updating the daptor soon. Unfortunately, I'm still having the same exact issue with my USB hub 2.1, where it seems if I have to many things plugged in, some of the ports won't stay a solid green, if they come on at all. I'm not sure if the hub is faulty or what. I'm using a new y-splitter/power switch cor...
