I'm pro supporter of mister switching to a Linux distro with a repo. I use arch on my personal PC.

The point is to replicate original hardware. Press the next game button and it switches to the cart in the next slot. MAME can load up multiple slots.

I thought that mister project uses the exfat filesystem, and exfat file system does not support symlinks?

Pi4 has composite built in. This is a huge benefit over the mister. It's also full of crap retro distros that will riddle your mind with configuring. Less money. I've done 161-in-1 with shitty menu. Switched to PC and jpac. Spent years programming a front end layout. Pc components died. Built another PC. Sick of PC and programming never ending. Waiting to make the jump to mister and be done with it.

I use non-merged sets. It's good if you only include specific roms on a device.
