Not sure if this is totally on topic, but is this core the best way to run the CGA version of Ancient Art of War on a Mister?

'
I've just tried, and it works perfectly on the PCXT core at 4.77Mhz.

Fantastic! Thanks for confirming that for me, I'll set it up :)

Re: MiSTer PCXT

Not sure if this is totally on topic, but is this core the best way to run the CGA version of Ancient Art of War on a Mister? I'm putting together a Mister setup with a CRT Monitor, Model M keyboard etc to relive those gaming days. I used to play the game on an PC Jr. and I think on an XT. Not interested in the non-CGA versions. Any guidance on set...

Re: VROMA0 Missing When Trying to Load Roms With Blackwine’s Mra Cores

Thanks jca! Trying the zip in the console core helped me solve it. I'd included the directory for each game in the zip file when I created them. I corrected them to just include the files and now it's working great :)

VROMA0 Missing When Trying to Load Roms With Blackwine’s Mra Cores

Hi, I recently download Blackwine's core and am able to bring the core up and the games start to launch but then fail with a message that looks like this: "media/fat/games/mame/[nameofgame].zip/vroma0" is not found, I then see the crosshatch appear alongside that message. I created the .zip files myself from the Darksoft romset, which is ...

Save autofire settings for button/core?

I've been thinking about putting a dedicated cabinet together for Truxton based on the new Toaplan V1 core and I would like to add a third button for autofire to the control panel. I know I'll be able to assign a secondary button to Shoot and using the menu button combo set it to autofire, but it seems like this is a setting that can't be configure...

CRT TV Component Sync issues with some cores

Hi, I hadn't updated my Mister in a while but did so last night. I've noticed that some of the cores no longer seem to be syncing with my JVC CRT TV. The new Esp.Ra.De core has this issue, but also some cores that used to work, such as Snap Jack and DoDonPachi, also suffer from this problem. In the case of Snap Jack, if I hold down the menu button ...

Re: More Donkey Kong Country (1 and 2) save issues

Yeah I really have no idea, since it is working great in every other game. I was playing some Secret of Mana this afternoon and was saving and loading perfectly fine. I may have to throw in the towel on this one and just play these 2 games on the original hardware. Not sure what else to try. I hugely appreciate all your help with this though! Thank...

jlancaster86 wrote: Sun Apr 11, 2021 1:44 am Have you tried removing the save files you have and letting MiSTer regenerate them? They may be corrupt in some way.
And yes, I had tried that a few times, the files would be recreated but aren't loading.

Re: More Donkey Kong Country (1 and 2) save issues

Thanks jlancaster, I tried that save file and it does work. So it isn't a problem with the loading, it's something wrong with the save files that are being generated. I haven't a clue as to what's causing the save problem though.

Any other suggestions I could try?

Re: More Donkey Kong Country (1 and 2) save issues

Sorry, I should have stated it differently. I thought perhaps the save files were corrupted or incomplete in some way. But the actual issue seems to be that the .sav files aren't loading. I've tried loading them manually but it didn't make a difference. I've also tried saving with and without autosaving on. The rom files I'm using are from No-Intro...

More Donkey Kong Country (1 and 2) save issues

I'm not able to save my progress in either of these two titles, while all the other SNES titles seem to save just fine. I do have autosave on and I am bringing up the menu to trigger the actual save, just as I'm doing in every other title. One difference I've noticed between the .sav files in the saves/SNES folder is that every other title consumes...
