Apologies, it works fine - I'd forgotten you need to reset to get it to take full effect.

Whatever the original cause, it does weaken the usability of the core for the more "average" user. The chances of somebody creating "correct" images of everything now seem rather low, so a core-side solution would certainly be appreciated.

I did find a few CAS files, but can't get these to run. I attached them via the OSD, then try CLOAD or CLOADM, but always get errors (e.g. "?IO ERROR", "?FM ERROR").
Did you get anywhere with this please? The site above has plenty of software, but all in VDK format as far as I can see, which can't be loaded by the MiSTer core.
