Re: Samurai Shodown RPG English Translation

Got it working if drive speed is set to 2X.
The problem above only happens when drive speed is set to 4X.
No idea why though...
The other NGCD images I have work perfectly fine with 4X drive speed

Samurai Shodown RPG English Translation

I am having problems getting the English Translation for Samurai Shodown RPG working.

The game boots into the main menu, but when i press START for GAME START, it kicks me back to the CD player menu.

I am using the image downloaded from CDRomance.

How do I add the 240p Test Suite (https://artemiourbina.itch.io/240p-test-suite) to romsets.xml?

Thank you.

Re: So Robert Peip (FPGAzumSpass) Is Working on a New Core...

Actually the N64 was pretty powerful, the problem was for cost reasons Nintendo saved on ram (a mistake they admitted later) and for paranoia they went with modules. The hardware itself was awesome and the gpu the strongest of that generation by miles it was just basically entirely castrated by the cost cutting measures and piracy paranoia. I wond...

CDi (I don't know the library as good as others, but even here I am aware of at least one great exclusive):
Burn Cycle

If you have an emulator, you should try Labyrinth of Crete. It's a great puzzle game with beautiful presentation.

The CD-i version of Tetris may be simple and basic, but it creates a very zen experience.

Maybe the problem is not in not being interested in a system, but this childish language like "fail systems", "useless systems", etc. We get it you are not interested in the 3DO, Jaguar or CDi (up to the point of not even bothering writing them with the proper upper case/lower case letters). It's fine, move on. So true! I am gr...

Re: Problems with MT32-pi after updating to v.0.13.0

Found the cause to be the core_freq and core_freq_min lines in config.txt since they were new additions with this latest release, and my backed up copy of this file didn't have them.

Thank you @MorkMikael. Your post led me to this solution :)

i may have had the same problem for me if everything worked for you in v0.12.1 what fixed it for me was backing up my config.txt and mt32-pi.cfg and delete every thing except roms and soundfront. and go to https://github.com/dwhinham/mt32-pi/releases and get v0.13.0 from there. and then get the new mt32-pi.cfg file from v0.13.0 and update your opt...

Problems with MT32-pi after updating to v.0.13.0

I updated my MT32-pi to the latest release (v0.13.0) today. Unfortunately this is causing garbled text on the OLED, and also randomly getting Unknown Mode notifications. U1hwL2e.jpg ujVWG8j.jpg I searched online and https://github.com/dwhinham/mt32-pi/issues/292 was the only result I got for this problem. My MT32-pi HAT (along with every part of th...

I honestly hope it isn't Virtual Boy. I have a consolized VB and it just isn't the same. These games were designed to be played in 3D. Playing them in 2D on a TV is not very fun imo.

Wouldn't the DE-10 Nano's HDMI port be able to output a 3D signal on a compatible TV?

Re: New 2022 PS1/2/3 Controllers by Retro Fighters and 8bitdo

I just received my RetroFighters Defenders two days ago and they work great on my PS1 and PS2. Analog buttons work great in Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3. D-pad is great, no problems pulling off moves in Street Fighter. And the 2.4Ghz RF is so much better than using a Bluetooth adapter. I was previously using the Brook adapter with the DualShock3 on my ...

Re: What Do You Think Will Happen Once MiSTer Reaches It's Limits?

Let's not forget one EXTREMELY critical factor - the DE10-Nano is very heavily subsidized by Intel University... It's doubtful the MiSTer project would be where it is without that subsidy Personally speaking, I am very surprised that we have gotten the PSX and 32X core on the MiSTer. I really thought they would never happen. And the Saturn core is ...

Re: Games Consoles Not On MiSTer And Their Viability (A Discussion)

At the very least it could do side by side 3D. Granted, that's only 960 pixels wide so you could only use the VB at 2x integer scaling. It may stll work on non integer scale with a nice interpolation filter. That is definitely good news :) I believe most 3D TVs support both side-by-side and top-and-bottom 3D. On the other hand... how many people s...

Re: Games Consoles Not On MiSTer And Their Viability (A Discussion)

Outside of getting our finished Saturn and NGP core, the only thing I would want it a VB and 3DO core. N64 would be nice if they could do the impossible, but I got an original console with an Everdrive mainly because they odds are under 5%. Speaking of a Virtual Boy core... is the DE10 Nano capable of outputting a 3D signal to compatible TVs? I ha...

I thought the ao486 core replicates something closer to the 486 DX2 66MHz... of course, it's likely I am wrong.

Definitely would love to see 286 and 386 cores... although I don't know if there's any major differences between the two. I had an 80386 DX40 back in the day, and whatever games I had on it worked on my friend's 80286 SX25 machine.

Personally speaking, I would love to see cores for the Atari Jaguar, Game.Com, and CD-i simply because none of these are available in my part of the world.

I am quite confident the Amiga CD32 and Nokia N-Gage are inevitable, especially now that the 32X and PlayStation cores are available.

The "three" of that era/generation were Saturn, PSX and N64, which all came out in 95/96 in the US/EU. The Dreamcast came out in 1999 in the US so, 3 years after the N64, and it was like a whole new generation, hardware was progressing very fast back then ( the first Voodoo card came out in 1996 ) and, fact the DC was the first home cons...

As for the MiSTer's IP, is it a static IP confirmed on the MiSTer, or a manual IP assignment from the router?
