Re: How to Connect to a VGA CRT With My Setup?

If you have a PVM I would certainly try it. You can get great results from all of those consoles and the Mister with it, though its sounds like it is limited to 15khz. 5x Tink is a great compliment to get all those consoles running on a TV but it sounds weird to be buying one just now for it. Maybe try your mister with some existing displays (sinc...

Re: How to Connect to a VGA CRT With My Setup?

All my console's have AV Components and thinking of connecting it to Sony PVM-20S1WE.

My console where connected via AV Component to a retrotink 5x to my 4k TV.

But thinking of going the other route.

Edit: Would get an OLED at a 42 but it's out of my budget.

How to Connect to a VGA CRT With My Setup?

What is the best way to connect Mister FPGA and a GameCube/PS2/SNES/Dreamcast via a VGA PC CRT if possible?

Could I do retrotink X5=Tendak HDMI to VGA=VGA CRT monitor?

How would I connect Mister HDMI (should I change the HDMI board to a CRT one) and 4 other devicees to a retrotink? I got a retrotink in it's box that I have not setup yet.

Re: Best Amp and DAC for my Setup

If you like the Eclipse you should keep them. Sound taste is super subjective. You need to go out and listen for what kind of sound you like ( warm, punchy, lean back, forward. Et.c. buy speakers and amplifiers according to what you want and your budget. This has more or less nothing to do with your game systems or mister fpga. They can all be conn...

Re: Looking for a New Monitor/TV for my MiSTer

I bought this one a few years back (in the 1.2 version, don't know whats different in 1.3) https://www.amazon.de/Aryond-A32-V1-3-Reaktionszeit-10-Verh%C3%A4ltnis/dp/B0BL3CGHVV Pretty happy, a fast panel (configurable), GSync/Freesync and HDR. Looks great with my MiSTer and accepts all refresh rates. UK based, maybe I can import it? Btw what do you...

Bear in mind that you would be paying a lot of money for something that still doesn’t come close to CRT. Plus at 60hz the gains are smaller so it’s a lot of money.

Ummm I'm conflicted. A good size CRT are heavy and big, we had two good ones but a long broken lol

These are great monitors that support 15 kHz! https://www.microcenter.com/product/638580/dell-se2722h-27-full-hd-(1920-x-1080)-75hz-led-monitor What's better oled/qled screen, what would you go for, for the Mister? Looking for a New Monitor/TV for my MiSTer

Hello everyone I am looking for a new screen to play PSX, SNES, NES, Amiga and DOS.

I am looking at a
ASUS ProArt PA278CV 27 or a

LG UltraGear 27GL850

Which one would be better or are they overkill for what they are for?

What would you suggest.

Regards

Re: Trying to Upate and Failed

Possibly a corrupt SD card, insufficient power or a permissions issue. If you have a USB drive connected perhaps try with that disconnected first and failing that try an alternative micro SD card? If that works test your micro SD with h2testw (🚨 be warned this will wipe the card 🚨). Also; which power supply are you using and what USB peripherals w...

Yes, the method shown in the video will allow you to place your game directory on the USB drive. I know that what I wrote is not easy to follow and is the reason I told you not to hesitate asking questions. That's the old way of doing it and I probably mark it as do not use. You can use the ExoDOSConverter tool now to do it all. It does 90% of the work for you and then you just need to put the contents in a VHD. https://github.com/Voljega/ExoDOSConverter I have windows 7, do I still need to use Python? Re: What would be a better choice?

If I were you I would buy a hitbox controller. A hitbox is more precise, because it doesn't have a joystick. It can be used both for 80s games that require a 4-way stick and for newer games that requre an 8-way stick. It is also perfect for playing console games intended to be played with a dpad. It takes some time to get used to the hitbox, but i...

Re: What would be a better choice?

I don't find the two to be quite equivalent, arcade sticks typically have way more travel, the tight travel of an old-school joystick is better suited for waggle games or up=jump platformers. Arcade sticks are definitely more versatile and there's also a ton more options in USB, but if your focus is really 2600 or microcomputers... That said what ...

Building a new MiSTer would like to know what's a good monitor and audio device

I will be building it myself as it cheaper and more fun than buying it prebuild. I found an amazing eBay seller from Australia but I'm located in the UK. He was selling at a great price but the Tax/vat is not worth it. He tells me a screen is not so important but I would think it would be as important as the device itself. I got an old 4k TV but I ...
