Re: 9.7" iPad Retina Screen Perfect for MiSTer, $60 Fully Assembled 😄

I really could not recommend getting the screens from this seller. It's clear that most of them are likely rejected screens that are either failing or will fail soon and didn't pass Apple's QoL so it has been passed off to china. I did return both screens and ordered a third, hoping that this last one will finally be a good one, as others have rec...

Adapt doesn't support 2600 paddles, unfortunately. That seemed to be the case. No big deal! I’ll find another way to play. Thank you for confirming! I can recommend the 2600daptor PDL mentioned above, also the Retrofi (Atari paddle version) here looks promising, as it can be used wired or wirelessly: https://brunofreitas.myshopify.com/products/ret...

Does anyone have experience with the Reflex Adapt and the Atari Paddle controller? I have Atari joysticks working fine with the "Genesis" cable/adaptor, and the Reflex Adapt sees the paddle buttons as "left" and "right" on the joystick input, which makes sense because those are the same pins, but I don't see any indic...

You would definitely have at least one customer right here.

Working on it. Just need help with the electronics, really. The design, prototype printing and building stuff I can do.

This would be a good start for the electronics side; throw one of the supported microcontrollers on a custom PCB that fits your shell.

It only gives me an error beep when I try to change ini files. Are your ini files named using the original convention (MiSTer.ini, MiSTer_alt_1.ini, MiSTer_alt_2.ini, etc.)? Or are you using the newer naming that allows arbitrary labels (MiSTer_CRT.ini, MiSTer_HDMI.ini, etc.)? Off-topic, but could you please help me find information about this? I ...

Odd how vsync_adjust=2 doesn't fix it.

vsync_adjust=2 is the least compatible mode (but fastest); 0 is most compatible (but adds more lag).

Also using PDL for CX30 paddles and D9 for everything else here. The nice thing is that the PID is different for the 2 adaptors so the mappings won’t conflict with or overwrite each other if you have both. As an aside, the D9 also works great with the Intellivision Flashback controllers in the MiSTer core (or real Intellivision controllers with a c...

The SDCard, only a small partition is readable, not the partition with the games.

This isn't true; games, cores, configuration files, filters etc. are all directly accessible on the SD card when inserted into a PC.

Re: Has anyone tried a 1TB MicroSD card in their MiSTer?

I much prefer just keeping everything on the MiSTer SD card, and syncing it to a backup on my PC hard drive via the network. Any issues with the SD card, I can just recopy the data from the backup (or worst case, copy to a new card). Haven't experienced any SD related issues in five years of MiSTer usage though. Did upgrade from 256GB to 512GB once...

slight flicker/loss of sync on PSX Bios

If you mean at the start of the BIOS sequence when the core is first loaded, yes that is normal.

If you're also seeing sync loss in-game, try enabling Fixed Hblank and Vblank in the PSX core OSD if they are not already set to 'On'.

Re: High Score saving in Jotego's Arcade Cores

If Jotego would be able to create a generic solution for highscores, I think it should be pretty high on the priority list, as highscores are an important element of arcade games. I totally agree, I think this is most likely getting a lower priority simply because Jotego's patrons seem to prefer new cores over QoL features. I'm sure Jotego himself...

High Score saving in Jotego's Arcade Cores

I'm pretty happy with the state of Arcade cores in MiSTer these days, but one glaring omission I find is high-score saving in Jotego's cores. There are quite a few good arcade cores that currently lack this, and the discrepancy really stands out when switching between arcade games that do retain their tables. After all, most older classic games are...

First thing to check is that you only have spinner_vid and spinner_pid set for specific cores, and not in the main body of mister.ini, as this will render the mouse function of the trackball inoperable.

(You also won't need to input map the trackball or spinner, just the buttons)

With proper RAM, the core now enjoys EXTREMELY high compatibility

Is v2.4/v2.5 RAM working fine yet? Or does v2.9/v3.0 still provide better results? I have a v2.4 module that runs stable around 143Mhz in the memory test core.

I've been waiting for the Saturn public release to try it out.
