If you look at the left side of the menu in the screenshot you posted, you can see it shows "FDS" when you have an FDS game loaded.

YES! I got 16 directions working! You need to make sure that you set the last 2 analog control directions (down/right) at the very end of the MiSTer menu joystick button mapping sequence (NOT in the Intellivision core itself) I'm guessing that I skipped mapping these previously, as I had already mapped the directional pad as a dpad (and also due t...

Re: Has There Been a Solution to MiSTer Not Auto Saving Game Data?

Also not a big fan of changing things as-is because on rare occasion I don't want to commit to the virtual memory card and would rather just bail out. It should be a third option in the core menu. This way people can toggle Manual Save→Save When Opening OSD→Write to SD Automatically based on their needs. I also like to turn off auto save sometimes...

Really looking forward to seeing a finished product. Taki is really, really awful at naming his devices though, it is baffling. Certainly this one is better named than MiSTer Pi. So I guess... PS One = R One If you look at the bottom of the image, the device is apparently named the "SS One". The "R" is the company logo (Retro R...

There are unofficial MiSTer cores being generated all the time; you can find them in "unstable-nightlies" in the MiSTer Discord. No open source projects call their nightlies "unofficial" if it's done by the main maintainers.. It's not done by the main maintainers; that would be MiSTer-devel https://github.com/mister-devel who d...

The original question never mentioned “main”. Tip: Anytime someone mentions "the MiSTer binary" or "the latest MiSTer binary" they are almost certainly referring to MiSTer main. Otherwise, it would be something like "the SNES core" or "the latest PSX core" (occasionally 'rbf' as well) there hasn't been any “...

But you will need the special Saturn cable, which costs 35$, plus some adapter for SCART if that's what your TV has.

You don't need to buy the cable from misteraddons, any Saturn A/V cable will work. For example, I have a composite/s-video Saturn cable laying around that I picked up for 5 or 10 bucks.

Re: Any cases pre-made w/ console controller ports?

That may be an interesting challenge since SNAC ports connect directly to the expansion port and have to be swapped for each controller type. Wouldn't necessarily have to go with SNAC. For example if you used 2 Timville 4Daptors you'd have 8 console inputs available (2x each NES, SNES, Genesis, N64) https://www.tindie.com/products/timville/4dapter...

Sorgelig made a fork of Daemonbite that supports spinners and paddles: https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/Retro-Controllers-USB-MiSTer/tree/master/PaddleTwoControllersUSB This is not a good option for many people because you actually need to physically modify the controller internals, destroying a functional OEM controller (it will no longer work wit...

Its not expensive, but I cant find any actual data on the 2600-daptor regarding lag. I know Daemonbite is 0.75 or so. Was really curious what the 2600-daptor is. Just wondering, what monitor model are you using?

Thanks, good to know it works without deleting that file.

If I save the new picture setting in a game, for example Cannon Fodder, will it be specific for that game or will it overwrite the setting for all games? MiSTer has no concept of a game-specific setting, so it will be global to the core. I guess the question is then how is AmigaVision storing this per-game info? Is there an editable file, or is it...

I measured latency at native resolution with the Time Sleuth a few years ago to confirm, I can’t recall the exact number but it was indeed very low.

How is the input lag on the Pro Art? Input Lag: 7.0 ms Native Resolution @ Max Hz 8.6 ms Native Resolution @ 60Hz The ASUS PA278QV has exceptionally low input lag. It's a little higher if you run at 60Hz or with the backlight-strobing feature enabled, but it shouldn't be noticeable to most people. From here: https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/...

a 16:10 monitor is no longer needed for correct looking scanlines when not using integer scaling (ie. scale to top/bottom of screen, regardless of integer) The 16:10 aspect ratio still has the benefit of being closer to 4:3, so there is less wasted space (visible black from pillarboxing) on the sides with 4:3 content and the display is physically ...

To clarify, is the reason people say not to use the included HDMI cable because it is poor quality/faulty or because it can't do 2048x1536@60hz? I used it for a bit and it did that resolution fine with my RTX 4070, but now I'm worried it could've damaged something. I had read about this for using the controller with MAME, but didn't think it'd be as useful to the MiSTer. I sadly have not the basic skill to even build it, so I'll wait for miracles, like Windows drivers and MiSTeR implementation! Trackball sensitivity can only be 1:2 or 1:4. The correct one for the Xarcade-Trackball would be something like 1:3.

You can fine tune trackball sensitivity using the mouse_throttle setting in mister.ini (assuming your trackball presents as a mouse).
