Re: 2P Mapping [Arduino/daemonbite]

I have 6 button setup, in a 3 top, 3 bottom config. I find that mapping neogeo a b c d left to right (top 3 and 1st on bottom row) works, but it also maps the 6th button too when it wasn't pressed Any idea what might be causing this? I was told the following ...I'd go into DaemonbiteArcadeEncoder.ino, go to line 36 and change it to like "Daemo...

2P Mapping [Arduino/daemonbite]

Hi, I just finished soldering 2 arduinos and flashed daemonbites encoder on both. My question is: How can I map the 2nd joystick and buttons? Do I have to do a generic 2P mapping in mister first,? I understand I have to map via core or game..e.g "Define neogeo buttons" ...."define buttons for mvsf". Will mapping 2P overight 1P m...

Re: MiSTer Custom Aspect Ratios for Horizontal Integer Scaling

If I'm not mistaking atrac17's modelines were calculated using the AR calculator using a custom resolution. Meauxdal also calculated a lot of these AR's eg see https://github.com/meauxdal/MiSTer_Custom_Aspect_Ratios/blob/main/1200p.txt Both methods require vscale_mode=1, they're just different approaches to calculating them (the calculator taking ...

Re: MiSTer Custom Aspect Ratios for Horizontal Integer Scaling

Yim wrote: Sat Jul 10, 2021 10:38 am Still need vscale=1, yeah. Without that it’ll fill the full height of the screen so you won’t get integer scaling. The custom aspect ratio doesn’t change the vertical scaling, only the horizontal.
Thanks!

what is the difference between vscale=1 + custom AR for HV integer scaling and atrac17's modelines?

Re: MiSTer Custom Aspect Ratios for Horizontal Integer Scaling

Do I keep vscale=1? Or does this override custom ratios at the bottom of the ini?

Thank you both so much.

Re: MiSTer Custom Aspect Ratios for Horizontal Integer Scaling

Would someone mind very quickly instructing me on how to use the AR calculator to get the desired output to put in the ini for my 1600x1200p screen? I would like to use custom AR for HV integer scaling on some of the arcade cores I use (CPS2/CPS1.5 etc)?

Re: Integer scaling and interpolation

There's no effective difference between vscale=1 and v-integer, aside from you being able to switch it on and off on the fly in the core menu. However if you wanted half-integer settings like vscale 2 and 3, v-integer will not do that, it will only do whole integer steps and override the fraction-integer settings when in use. I think hv-integer+ a...

Using the AR calculator for custom AR with integer scaling [Solved]

Hi, I am trying to use custom AR to get the max vertical / horizontal height on my dell 1600x1200 screen for arcade cores (CPS 1/1.5/2 etc) I know this isn't necessary for console cores as the have scale options in the OSD I understand I can do this per core / game and understand that I will need to work how many times the native resolution goes in...

Re: Integer scaling and interpolation

If you like the comp scanlines there's no reason to switch, although it's also zero effort to just try the sharp interpolation shader too and switch back if its not to your liking. If you use "normal" scale it will adjust the horizontal width to approximate 4:3, often times this is not a horizontal integer scaling. (Many cores now have H...

Re: Integer scaling and interpolation

It really depends on your display's capabilities. On my Samsung TV I need to use interpolation sharp turned on with integer scaling and with 5x mode to avoid some aesthetically displeasing issues with motion. But that's with vsync_mode=0 however. On my computer monitor I don't need to do this, so it's dependent upon the situation I guess. Ok, than...

Integer scaling and interpolation

Hi, I am using a dell 4:3 1600x1200, with vscale=1 (x5 integer scale) I understand that almost everything i play (neogeo/genesis/cps) is more often 224 horizontal than 240 and 256/512 instead of 320. These aren't direct integers of 1600x1200 and so there is a border horizontally and also vertically. The scaling options in the core (snes/neogeo) is ...

Re: Dell 2007FPb - Any experiences?

vscale_adjust=0 to fill the screen. you can try 2, 3, or 4 if you want something inbetween. Would recommend sharp interpolation scaling filter when using non-integer scales. This is great advice, thank you. I am using vscale_adjust=1 and happily put up with borders for x5 scaling. I've also been using interpolation sharp filter and wasnt aware it ...

Re: MiSTer with Dell 2007FPb - confirmation of settings

There is a dedicated ini for the monitor. https://gist.github.com/hernan43/dc7e6b9274b4406cc43614d486cc613b I had problems with this one and I think it was due to having a 1 in front of the 1600. By putting the 1 in front I think it's loading the 1024x768@60 setting and ignoring the rest of the parameters. I tried it and the little card that shows...

Re: MiSTer with Dell 2007FPb - confirmation of settings

.ini looks good. I have a similar monitor (2007FP) and I just bought a HDMI to DVI-D cable. Not exactly sure what the effect of going from digital (HDMI) to analog (VGA) back to digital (LCD) is but I imagine it's not as good as keeping it digital all the way through. If anything the lag (2-3 frames using the 240p test suite) might get worse havin...

MiSTer with Dell 2007FP Confirmation of Settings

Hi all, I just picked up this monitor (ips) and a MiSTer (digital IO) and was hoping for some confirmation. Could someone please check my .ini file to see if there is anything I should change?

I am using a HDMI to VGA (Direct video) with a toslink to RCA DAC for audio output

Should I use DVI mode for more headroom as I don't need audio from hdmi ?
