Here are photos of the top and bottom of the board:

Where did you buy this IO board? This should never have been sold in such a poor state.

Tell us so others can avoid the seller of this poor workmanship.

If recently purchased return for a refund.

It's an Analog IO board from Antonio Villena

Why do you not ask Antonio Villena if this is expected behaviour for his custom designed IO board?

Re: Avoid AntonioVillena’s Products at All Cost

I also had issues with the Antonio Villena memory module XXSD128 board. His version of this memory was bad with certain cores due to board routing issues I owned one and had nothing but problems on the neo geo core, once faults were known product was withdrawn, nothing from him to help me, no exchange or replacement. Re: RTC Not Working

As someone in the same boat, Wouldn't it be strange for two hardware faults from the same batch? Not really. Shows opposite i feel, two identical type fault from same seller of rtc board in short time space reported. Possible bad batch of clock chips? I do know it not battery related i tested you can set rtc time without battery it gives no error.

I can guarantee you that I am fully seating it. I'm pressing until my thumb gets marks.

Your RTC has a hardware fault, contact seller and get a replacement. Nothing to do with battery or fitment.

Re: Sega Saturn Core in Development

Version numbers are not that useful. What is useful is the max stable speed your ram can achieve in Memory Test. I have run the saturn core both with 2.5 and 2.9. The 2.5 clocks stable at 142 and the v 2,9 clocks stable at 150. Using the 2.9 gave better results but v2.5 if its the official 2 chip design should be fine as long as you can hold > 140...

Re: Sega Saturn Core in Development

There is no requirement on any Dev to support non standard 4 Chip Memory. It should never have been made. Why should a dev spend time supporting a non official memory expansion. Antonio had good reasons to do the 4 modules in the first place. These modules were cheaper and easier to find for a while. Yes one good reason is more profit for him, cos...

AMMiSTer: An Application For Managing Arcade Games on the MiSTer

Just found this news about a new application so I would share here for other MiSTer users. https://github.com/city41/AMMiSTer An app for managing arcade games on the MiSTer. Download all of the arcade cores and their ROMs to your PC. Then decide what games will go onto your MiSTer, organized anyway you like. When new updates come out, you can grab ...

Low cost targeted FPGA boards are a sensible idea. See the Sipeed Tang Primer 20K FPGA a NES for 42$

The Sipeed Tang Nano FPGA Development Board at 17$ is also interesting

More to consider how to lower the price point and start discussions around how a different FPGA family could be implemented as an alternative within and for the MiSTer project.

If that is really the case why give the thread a clickbait title MiSTer 2.0?

When what you mean is investigate an alternate hardware platform to the existing DE10-Nano.

Re: Using MiSTer With a Fan, but No Heatsink?

The DE-10 is rated for up to 100°C operation and it doesn’t get nearly that hot. Do I really need a fan or heatsink? A number of complex cores (like ao486) benefit from having the chip at cooler temperatures, since heat can affect the tight timings they require. A fan is recommended to avoid any possible glitches, but you won't damage your DE10-Na...
