Re: Direct Video and HDMI Audio Extraction Doesn’t Work With MiSTer Menu

Hi all and thanks for your attention!

Definitely a faulty board, TOS Link doesn't work even in single ram, I momentarily re-set my old analog one, I hope Mister Addons re-stock soon its dual ram / analog solution, I would've bought that if it was available...

Re: Direct Video and HDMI Audio Extraction Doesn’t Work With MiSTer Menu

Tried it now and its working on my 9.2 board from Taki/Mister Pi using dual ram. To be clear, this is SPDIF using a TOSlink to standard optical cable carrying digital PCM audio into a cheap DAC. Plugging a 1/8th phono jack into the board is only going to pick up analog audio which will not be generated while the AV Mezziane is removed to use dual ...

Re: Direct Video and HDMI Audio Extraction Doesn’t Work With MiSTer Menu

TOSlink port on the 9.2 should still provide optical digital audio when using dual-ram, right? It sure lights up red for me like it is. Instructions are confusing but it seems like you should not flip SW3 on for dual ram with the 9.2 board like you had to for earlier versions. At least I've been playing a lot of dual core Jaguar stuff just fine wi...

Re: The State of DACs for the MiSTer and Direct Video

Instead of going for extractors, maybe try looking for DV dongle with built in audio output. The one I'm using sometimes has it and the sound is perfect. The downside is it's the AG6200 based one so the image can look darker (though this also affects games differently). But maybe you could find one on the list from page 1 of this thread which has ...

Re: The State of DACs for the MiSTer and Direct Video

You may need to place an HDMI audio extractor between the HDMI port and the VGA adaptor to achieve this. You know of any HDMI audio extractor that works with Direct Video, or what I have to look for to find compatible ones? Actually, a good portion of them will support digital audio and it’s just not documented. You just need a 3.5mm to optical/to...

Direct Video and HDMI Audio Extraction Doesn’t Work With MiSTer Menu

Hi there! I've recently switched my analog MiSTer setup to an "hybrid" one: I've bought this board (https://ultimatemister.com/product/mister-av-pro/) and I've setup the system to work with dual SDRAM; I've attached to the Hdmi port an Hdmi to Vga compatible dongle, set direct_video=1 and "composite_sync=1" on mister.ini, attach...

Re: DualRam and analog output

Limited GPIO pins on the DE10-Nano. If you are using the second GPIO headers for SDRAM you can't use the analog IO board. It's an addon board for analog IO boards to output 24-bit video via the VGA port using a DAC. 24-bit DAC is for analog video output only. The digital IO boards do not have analog video out. HDMI isn't affected. You can still us...

Dual RAM and Analog Output

Hi there, some hardware-related MiSTer Fpga things are not clear to me:

1) why we can't use DualRam together with analog output with new boards like this?

2) what is exactly the A/V module?

3) the new 24 Bit ADV Video DAC is possible only with analog output or also with the digital one?

Thanks in advance for you answers!

I can mix and match the two supported DOS versions, the game distribution files as well ...

Re: DOSContainer Alpha Release

Funny bug here. When working on games from the early 1980's things are mostly fine. I tested a big fat CD-ROM title that weighs a few hundred MB the other day and my MiSTer ran out of memory (yay for testing!). Turns out I should not buffer the entire uncompressed game plus the VHD file in RAM at the same time. That's just sloppy engineering on my...

Re: tty2oled Soft&Hardware Add-On (Shows Core based Pictures on a Display)

The user ini should contain ONLY lines which are different to the system config. In your case maybe only the TTYDEV line. Do not copy the whole system ini to the user ini. As far as i know the UU is created by TapTo and his interface probing. Set this to „false“. You write tty2oled is assigned to ttyUSB1. But you can‘t assign a device to an interf...

Ok, I've checked, the problem is with nested folders: this works: mkdir /media/fat/_test cd /media/fat/_test ln -s /media/fat/_Arcade/Poly\ Play.mra ln -s /media/fat/_Arcade/cores this never works: mkdir /media/fat/_test/_test2 cd /media/fat/_test/_test2 ln -s /media/fat/_Arcade/Poly\ Play.mra ln -s /media/fat/_Arcade/cores Thanks for your help!

How to create symlink to arcade cores? Official guide doesn't work

Hi there! I'm following the official guide: Arcade cores cannot be launched using MGL files. If you want to make a shortcut to an arcade core elsewhere in the menu, you'll instead have to symlink (symbolic link) it there. For example, either through SSH or the console (press F9 from the menu): ln -s /media/fat/_Arcade/dummy.mra /media/fat ln -s /me...
