Re: Namco ND-1

A quick progress status report: The CPU (fx68k core) is running code and basic functionality of the YGV608 (graphics processor) is complete enough to show the self-test messages at start-up. This is running under simulation (in a simulated MiSTer environment) but I did have an earlier version without the CPU running on MiSTer hardware. ram ok.png ...

Re: Namco ND-1

I wrote the original MAME driver for this hardware (note I didn't implement the rotation used in Galaga Arrangement - is it even there now?) I own the Vol 1 PCB and had the SMT graphics ROMs removed temporarily so they could be dumped. Someone else dumped the Vol 2 ROMs. The graphics processor is the Yamaha YGV-608 - a multi-layer scrolling tilema...

Re: PlayStation Based Arcade Hardware

For Tetris there is a ROM hack for running this on a PlayStation: https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/5607/ I expect that using existing patches is a smaller effort than making a MiSTer core for each PlayStation-based arcade hardware. This is quite an interesting proposal. If the PlayStation has no problem running several of these games by way of pat...

PlayStation Based Arcade Hardware

So with the PSX core performing well and still receiving work in the way of further accuracy and enhancements from FPGAzumSpass, I've been checking out games I was previously too skeptical about putting the time into. Mostly been enjoying the fighting games that were ported or developed for the PS1. Something I've always wondered was if the MiSTer ...

Namco ND-1

I don't know how many people are aware of the arrangement versions of the classic Namco games we have cores for already, but they were developed on the Namco ND-1 board. They have only been seen on one console compilation known as Namco Museum for PS2, GameCube and Xbox. I have not gotten rid of my PS2 copy mainly because I have never come across a...

Re: Uzebox Core?

The North American kit is discontinued as well on the Adafruit website but they do have other odd Uzebox accessories available. Anyone wanting to try out a physical version of this project would have to solder their own kit out using the schematics which are on the Uzebox website. I'm really hoping the schematics on the link are enough to build a c...

Re: Sega Saturn Core in Development

Would the Sega Saturn core be interchangeable with the Sega ST-V games?
[all assuming development goes as planned of course]

Uzebox Core?

Has anybody heard of Uzebox? It was/is an open source 8-bit console that anybody could develop games on. Most of the projects on this little console were in the style of public domain demos similar to the ones found on commercial consoles, but there have also been several great games made by the community for Uzebox. Considering it is open source, ...

Re: NG.DEV ROM Ripping for MiSTer? (Gunlord & Kraut Buster)

When it comes to games like these, I firmly believe we need to start petitions or just getting in touch with these developers to sell their ROMs. Although, the efforts might not be fruitful because they do indeed re-release these games on modern consoles, but at the end of the day they will know they have a potential market they can begin tapping i...
