Quality C64 video cables?

Does anyone have a recommendation for a vendor that sells high-quality C64 Video-Cables for original C64 hardware? i.e. 8-pin < RCA or Luma/Chroma. I see a lot of vendors selling cables, but hopefully someone has experience and knows a reputable vendor who sells high-quality cables.

Re: [Errno 39] Directory not empty

@jca @Malor - thank you both. I ran chkdsk and found the directory in "Organized" that was corrupt. I reformatted the SD-card and restored from backup. Update_All then completed without error.

[Errno 39] Directory not empty

Hi everyone! My update_all script was interrupted, and upon re-run the 'Arcade Organizer' is throwing an "Errno 39". The full output is below along with a screenshot. I tried cleaning out the Update folder, but the error persists, so I'm not sure what "_Japan" directory is being referenced - or how to resolve this. I appreciate ...

Disregard - Solved. In the update-all MISC menu, changing the OFFSET from 30 seconds to 4 did the trick.

Arcade Cores 30 Seconds to Load?

I ran update-all tonight and checked some new options, such as "Arcade ROMs Database" and "Unofficial Cores". I then ran a few Arcade cores such as 'Congo Bongo' and 'Street Fighter', but upon loading the Mister paused for about 30-seconds before finally loading into the core. I tested console cores and the loading was instant. ...

Mixing SDRAM Modules

My De-10 uses Antonio Villena's 128MB SDRAM "4C", found here:

https://www.antoniovillena.es/store/pro ... am-module/

I want to go to a Dual-RAM setup. Is it safe to add a RAM module from another vendor (such as the following link) or do I need to use another "4C" module?

Re: Inline Power Switch for 5V/4A ?

Switch the AC input instead of the 5V DC output. Thank you everyone! I also had to think about this post for a bit, but I finally got it. I'm an idiot - I was plugging in the power cable into the on/off switch and that into the splitter (power + usb) into the Mister. Simply switching the order fixed it - you need to plug the power cable into the s...

Inline Power Switch for 5V/4A ?

The stock DE-10 power-supply doesn't provide enough power for my mechanical drive. The 5v / 4a / 20w Meanwell power-supply works like a charm (model GST25A05-P1J) but it doesn't work with the standard "in-line power switch" since the switch can only handle 2a. I want a power switch for my non-digital Mister build to provide a safe way of ...

DB9 SNAC Adapters on the MiSTer Multisystem?

I've been researching different SNAC options and I'd appreciate guidance on the following - as it pertains to the MMS Multisystem. 1) Does anyone know if the MMS can safely use DB9 SNAC adapters? (which use a DB9 to USB3 adapter). Examples would be the following: https://www.antoniovillena.es/store/product/splitter-for-mister/ https://www.antoniovi...

That makes sense. But then the next question is where to find this pi hat, since he advertises the following as "For the Ironclad Plus without “Pi-CONN” header"

d3fmod Ironclad Question

Does anyone have experience with the Ironclad board by 'd3fmod'? The board includes a 5-pin header labelled 'pi-conn' for a MT-32 pi, but no guidance on how to connect or integrate the MT-32 pi to this 5-pin header.

Re: What is purpose of "GunCon2" board?

For the GunCon 2 to function, it needs to tap the composite sync from the video signal to a CRT. You can do this a few ways, these devices just intercept composite sync in between your existing cables to pass to the GunCon 2. This makes sense - so the device basically functions like the "t-cable". So do you plug this addon-board directly...

What is the purpose of the "GunCon2" breakout board? (links below) I've found tutorials of people using the Guncon2 without this device on CRTs. If I have a Guncon2 and t-cable, under what scenario would I need the breakout board? https://misteraddons.com/collections/parts/products/guncon-accessories https://ultimatemister.com/product/gun...

We will also have Cartridges and various other expansion add-on's this year. This is the Pi cartridge about to go into production, with others in various prototype stages. Where can I buy 5v Jumpers?

I've realized that I need the 5V jumper for the VGA to Composite adapter from Antonio Villena. Please see the below picture - my board didn't come with a jumper. Will any old IDE jumper work?

Attached are two videos of the issue. In the 1st (PXL_20211107_224708306.mp4) - you can see the issue by focusing on the bricks in the wall, beneath the player stats and time. You may need to watch it a few times, but you can see the bricks "bow" downward as they reach the edge of the right-screen. It also seems to be happening in the mid...

Help Understanding CRT issue

My trinitron CRT has an issue with its display, and I can't find a description of the issue (so I can learn how to fix it). On side-scrolling games (like SNES Castlevania) the sides of the picture appear to "roll" into place, as the image was being projected onto a sphere. It almost gives the image a 3D look, since the background doesn't ...

I have an opportunity to acquire a PVM monitor. To anyone whose used one, how does it compare to the RetroTink5x on an OLED? It seems to me that the only thing PVMs have over modern tech is scanlines for 240p. Is the PVM display that much better than modern displays with a proper upscaler?

Understanding Philips CRT Model #

I have an old CRT that I'm working to clean-up, but I can't interpret the serial number to understand its manufacture date. It has a sticker that says "December 2001" on it, but I have childhood memories of the unit from the 90's (so I think this might have been a 'service' date). Can anyone help interpret the following Philips CRT model?...

Castlevania Bloodlines - Static for Water?

At the 3:50 mark in the below video, the player enters an area with water, and the water looks like wavy static lines. This happened on my modded Genesis Model 2, and I thought it might be caused by a bad mod-job, but looks like its just part of the game?

Contra - Freezes on Konami screen

Loading 'Contra Hard Corps' - the game freezes on the Konami logo screen. This also happens with a few others, but its reproducible with 'Contra Hard Corps', with any version of the game I try. Not exactly sure how to go about troubleshooting - appreciate any assistance or suggestions. Is there a CORE error log I can view?
