Re: Compatible OTG USB Hubs

Yea. It’s normal location is inside my arcade cabinet. With all external controls. Only time I would normally go near it is if I have issues or need to make changes. Most of which I can do via wi-fi anyway. Thank you for your concern.

Re: Compatible OTG USB Hubs

Thought someone might be interested in what happened to my solution. The USB hub that I had on hand that worked with the MiSTer, via the dongle/adapter contraption, is a UGREEN product that is no longer available on their website. Bellow is a photo of the case after I had removed it's contents. 1 IMG_2502.JPG I opened the USB Hub because I wanted t...

Re: Setting Time Zone in MiSTer

If you use the Timezone script from the Scripts folder, it determines your location based on your external IP address and what your service provider has registered as its geolocation. In most cases it's fairly accurate, but in other cases, perhaps like with Starlink, they are more general to a single point in a country or state....which may not be...

Re: Setting Time Zone in MiSTer

Try this: Look for your particular country/state/timezone in /usr/share/zoneinfo , and for example, if you live in Melbourne, Australia , then go to /usr/share/zoneinfo/Australia , and copy the Melbourne file to /media/fat/linux/timezone . Reboot and see if that helps. That worked! Did a full power cycle to check it and it's all good. Thank you so...

Re: Setting Time Zone in MiSTer

The file "timezone" in the Linux directory, which is being referenced in the TimeZone script, is unreadable. I decided to play around with this file when I realized I recognized some of the code as timezone information and searched it and tried replacing it with that of my timezone. I preserved the hidden code. Changing it seems to have ...

Re: Setting Time Zone in MiSTer

What about the timezone script? I have this issue as well. I'm using StarLink and thought my time would be correct. But for me it is set to another state in Australia. When I run the timezone script is loads shows what it's set to and then end returning back to the MiSTer menu. The file "timezone" in the Linux directory, which is being r...

Re: Compatible OTG USB Hubs

Thanks. I did a similar thing temporarily with a bunch of adapters. Have one that works like that so I might rewire the cable to have a mirco USB instead of it's current USB-A. I do wonder why the one I bought doesn't work.

Compatible OTG USB Hubs

Hi, Sorry if I missed it but I haven't been able to find any information on compatible OTG USB (micro to A) hubs. Back story; skip this paragraph if you want. - I had put my fully functional arcade machine into dry safe storage in a shed for about a year. When my brother visited I pulled it out since he had never seen my arcade machine. It was imma...

USB Input issues will MiSTerCade help me

I've been having endless issues with my two XinMo USB inputs for my microswitch array. I think the biggest issue is the janky connectors and the dodgy usb connection through the mister usb hub. I could probably mitigate that part by buying another one and hope that it's better built. Just FYI all the connectors were super loose the day I got it and...

Re: Feature Request Display Current Mapping as a Control Test

I just ran update_all for the first time and saw it installed a controller one that would do most of what I requested.

Feature Request Display Current Mapping as a Control Test

Feature Request. I've searched for anything to this effect but found non. Would it possible for someone to write a utility to display the current mapping as a control test? Personally I'm just thinking I would like one for the arcade cabinet use where there is not a million functions. Pp/down/left/right buttons 1-10, coin and player for player 1-4....
