Do you have the names.txt file on your card? If so the NES core might be named different due to this file. Try renaming it to names.tx_ to see if this makes a difference.

YES! That worked! Now I will make a copy of my working SD card to keep as a backup.

Thank you very much!

Re: Messed Up My SD Card NES Not Showing Up in Cores

Thanks for your response, Akuma. I tried that. The _Cores menu returns, but the missing entries are still missing. Are you sure this is not a matter of missing "boot.rom" or similar files?

Messed Up My SD Card NES Not Showing Up in Cores

I think I have messed up my MiSTer SD card somehow. Even though I have 47 .rbf files in the _Cores directory (with a few .mgl files in there. I don't know what they are). There are quite a few that don't show up in the OSD menu. Specifically, Astrocade_20230407.rbf Casio_PV-1000_20230310.rbf GBA2P_20220813.rbf GBA_20230806.rbf Game Gear.mgl Gameboy...

Dear @Flandango, thanks so much for your detailed reply. It is clear my instructions are missing a very important step: Put the disk for saves into the drive before starting! Sorry to waste your time. I will update the instructions now. My offer to kick down some money on patreon, paypal, or whatever still stands. Let me know how! Thanks very much....

Hello,

I am trying to play Rasmus's ZQX ONE, but when I load it up in the v220221 core it looks funny.

Re: Atari 7800 / 2600

Hello thorr, pardon this obvious question. Can you please confirm that I must use a headphone cable to connect the audio cable on the Atari SNAC adapter to the audio out jack on the MiSTer? Once I do that, how do I hear the audio?

Thanks,

Re: TI-994a How-To

If you are not seeing the OSD come up, you may need to temporarily use a display connected via HDMI to do the initial configuration (system rom/groms). That is correct, though I did see it once, even on the CRT. How many times must I do this rom/grom thing? Every time I power on the MiSTer? Or is the config saved in non volatile memory? Unfortunat...

Re: TI-994a How-To

Ed, First, the IO jumper is used only if you are trying to use TIPI, which is an external device connected via the "User Port". So if you are not trying to do that, you can ignore the IO jumper. As for the issue of getting just a black screen and no OSD a couple of questions: Are you trying to do this via a crt/vga connection on the IO b...

Re: TI-994a How-To

Yes nothing has changed from the working cores, no cores are working now. Tried a new sdcard image, no dice. going to have to troubleshoot the issues may be the adapter or io board. If the adapter checks out, verify the IO6 jumper (next to or around the User IO port) is set to I/O and not 3.3v. Hello @Flandango, I am very sorry to trouble you, but...

Re: TI-994a How-To

Regarding TOD, is possible to run the data files directly in cartridge, without using the disk. My last MegaPack 4.0 (available on Atari Age: https://atariage.com/forums/topic/312655-ti-994a-mister-core/?do=findComment&comment=4967326 ) has 9 games in .M99 format (under the SSS_Games directory). ;) A new, updated Magapack will be released soon...

Re: TI-994a How-To

Adaptive Scanlines is still in it's infancy but the great folks behind it are hard at work creating filters and presets for folks to enjoy. Suggestion is don't enable Scandoubling effects (i.e. crt-25%/50%/75%) if you are using HDMI and use the new filters. I wish I knew what you meant by that. I would like to test this, but I need more concrete i...

Will this thread ever be promoted to a top level topic? (was: Re: TI-994a How-to)

I am new here, and I appreciate joining this innovative community. I hope to contribute back in some way (I just kicked down some paypal to Mr. MiSTer Alexey Melnikov, so I've got that going for me). Anyhow, I wonder if this thread will ever be promoted to a top level topic, on par with minimig or X6800. How is that decided?

Thanks,

Vectrex with Composite Video NTSC (was: Re: Vectrex core)

Hello MiSTer community, I have the Vectrex core working great on my HDMI tv, but when I hook it up to my CRT TV I get what looks like an NTSC/PAL problem. Re: Daptor-2600 D9 with 2600 Paddles? [Solved]

I have a SNAC enabled Atari 2600 core and it works perfectly with paddles. You need the Atari SNAC adapter and an ADC input to get it to work. I am hoping this can be added to the 7800 core at some point (2600 support and SNAC using the Atari SNAC adapter). Bruce Lee (1984), SNAC and ATR vs ATX

Hello Atari 8-bit MiSTer fans. I finally got my MiSTer set up this weekend and I am happy to report the Bruce Lee (1984 Datasoft) worked without problem. I have two questions, however: 1. I had to use the ATR disk, the ATX one did not work. Why is that? 2. I don't see SNAC support in the Atart 800 Core, I would like to play with my classic CX-40 jo...

Re: Which way to update MiSTer?

I also am fond of https://github.com/theypsilon/Update_All_MiSTer update_all, but how can I tell whether or not it successfully ran all the way to completion? I am concerned that I ran out of space on the 8gb SD card and the script just failed. Is there any way to tell if I need to redo the whole thing, but using a larger sd card?
