Hi,
I agree with rcade. If you are not confident to fix it yourself, it's probably better to leave it as is

Re: Startup LED Blinking Meanings
Hi,
Check your HDMI cable, I had similar issues with a cable that stops working with the MisTer (but is still fine with other sources)

Re: Media players on the MiSTer?
What kind of videos / medias do you want to play ?
To play video games music tracks with emulated soundchips OK, it may be nice, but to play mp3 or mp4 videos, there are probably better platforms.
You can probably have a better experience with a linux distibution for DE10 nano + a compatible multimedia player

Re: Renesas plans to ship small real low cost FPGA
Hi, Those chips are interesting for small apllications but 5000 logical gates is a bit weak for emulalting a processor or coprocessor For comparison the cyclone V has 110 000 logical gates + dual arm cortex A9 processor So it's nice to have small FPGAs for glue logic or small ASICs, or to handle small time-critical tasks, but it's too small for emu...

(..)and don't understand why it's so underrated in the "best console ever" debates. You will start a console war if you launch the debate of the best console ever  PS1 is not so underrated. It have a great library and great games. But nowadays, 3D games on playstation are a bit ugly ... gameplay don't age, but 3D graphics does. For ...

Re: MiSTercade Display/Visual Help
Hi, It looks like a TTL signal fed into a 0.7V input I don't know the MISTercade in details, but if there are level shifters to provide 5V video signals, but your monitor is expecting 0.7V max, picture is over-saturated. Do you use jamma connector for video on your arcade cabinet, ou do you use a separate VGA connector for video ? In my arcade cabi...

Re: USB hub on the SNAC port?
Hi,
If I am not mistaken, the SNAC uses a USB style connector but is not USB bus, it's a serial port directly controled by the FPGA.
So no USB peripherals can be plugged in this port.
Your USB peripherals must be plugged in the usb OTG port on the DE10-nano

I think lomdar67 was looking for the pinout directly from the DE10-nano, not on the I/O board

Re: 1440p monitor: flat or curved?
Hi, IMHO curved panels are only goods for modern 3D gaming. More over, on CRT image was a bit convex but not concave, so it will look different from "authentic" rendering But, it's all personal preferences after all. Freesync and G-sync are software related features and available only with computers with compatible graphic card. It's not ...

Re: MiSTer Wiki Discussion
Hi, Is this topic for discussing about updates or corrections suggested to the wiki ? (without the risk of being yelled "Just fix it yourself if you are not happy with it!") A small remark : sometimes informations are spread across 2 (official) sources, and one of them is not up to date. For example, I tried to build my SDRAM XDS v2.9 mod...

Re: Alternatives parts for SNAC
Where can I find the schematic of the SNAC ? It will be usefull to confirm what substitute you can use. Quite often MOSFETS are just used for signal commutation, so you have to look at the polarity (N channel or P channel), the gate/source voltage (Vgs) the resistance between drain and source (Rds) is important in high power applications, but proba...

Re: Extra power from attached HDD Is it bad?
I agree. For testing it will probably not harm to have 2 power supplies, but it should not be a long term solution for some reasons : 1 - if one PSU have more voltage than the other it may disturb the feedback of the switching power supply. A diode after each PSU can prevent that behaviour but quite often there is not always such protection "o...

Re: Alternatives parts for SNAC
Hi,
For U1, you can replace it with a similar LDO SOT23 regulator (3.3V 200mA).
Be aware that sometimes pinout can differ from a manufacturer to another.
For the XC6206P332MR-G pin 1 is GND, pin 2 output, pin 3 input
A possible substitute is : Microchip MCP1703A - SOT23A mouser reference 579-MCP1703AT3302ECB

Re: "Github Copilot" A.I. Revolution and the MiSTer project
Hi, AI copilot is for high level languages. It can help to find some "dumb" mistakes, like if a variable is named Myvarible instead of Myvariable in Hardware description languages, like VHDL or Verilog, you are not "programming a program", your are describing hardware. So an IA cannot "know" that "this wire should...

Hi Jotego, and thank you for your great work ! For my information, what is your usual workflow when developping a new core ? Do you start from the original PCB, then draw the electronic schematics ? I have an original Toaplan V1 board (hellfire) and decent electronic skills and equipement. If one day you need te check some signals, feel free to ask.

Hi,
Why not including a "popular third party cores" to the wiki ?
I am quite new to the project, but i found it a bit confusing first time i searched for CPS cores.

Re: Add an Overclock Option to Avoid Slowdowns
Hi, I am not expert in NES, but it seems that NES have all it's timing related to the main CPU. That is the reason why NTSC and PAL NES have different working frequencies. With an Overclocked CPU, video timings will no longer be accurate, and sound will be faster and higher pitched. More modern systems have separated clock signals for sub systems, ...
