Re: I Miss That C Button

Retrobit controller is officially licensed by Sega.
identical quality and feel of the original + home button for Mister.
the best pad for Sega Genesis,32X and Sega CD cores.

Re: I Miss That C Button

I have 8Bitdo M30,RetroBit Saturn and RetroBit Genesis pads, the Retro-Bit pads are a little better imo.
they look and feel identical to Sega Pads and the D-Pad feels slightly better.
8BitDo M30 is great too but I rate Retro-Bit slightly higher.

You dont get extra USB ports with an IO Board. You get the Snac/ User IO port which looks like a USB port but ISNT a Usb port and should never have usb devices plugged into it

That's right.I mixed it up with USB Hub for some reason.. ;)

Re: MiSTer not working with BVM CRT

I connected a DVD player with component video cables and I get a picture but it is squashed and duplicated across the left and right halves of the screen with a vertical black bar down the center. I'm surprised component from DVD isn't perfect out of the box because one of the inputs was set up for component (along with RGB and composite on other ...

Re: MiSTer not working with BVM CRT

I can't think of another way to test the monitor. Is there a cable online (Amazon?) that's known to work? I'm not sure what you mean about not using HDMI to VGA. The only video out on my MiSTer is HDMI. I assumed you have the analogue IO board on your Mister. That's the ideal way to get VGA signal not converting HDMI to VGA imo. IMG-4934.jpg since...

Does your monitor otherwise work?
Can you test it with a different cable? some of these VGA cables can have issues..
all you need for connecting the Mister VGA to PVM/BVM is a VGA to BNC cable.I don't think HDMI to VGA is the solution.

Re: MiSTer not working with BVM CRT

My MiSTer works great connected to a digital display and I'm trying to get it working on a refurbished BVM which is my only CRT. I'm using these cables to go from HDMI to RGB: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075GZ8DX7 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000067SM6 I've changed to these in MiSTer.ini: direct_video=1 composite_sync=1 The CRT only displays a horizo...

This game still doesn’t work on SNES Core in August 2023.

It’s a shame because it’s graphically one the best looking SNES games.

Re: FPGA Sega Dreamcast?

Dreamcast is well beyond DE10 Nano capabilities..it's a 128 BIT system more close to the 128BIT PS2 specs than 32 BIT PS1/Saturn.
I'm not even 100% sure we'll get a fully functional N64 core.
But I hope I'm wrong.

what are the chances that this core never completes?
Saturn was always a complex system, for game developers and emulator programmers.an FPGA implementation doesn't sound like one man job even in normal conditions.
why other developers don't assist him?

I am seeing the same result I've seen with every 8bitdo product: paid reviewers/influencers and people who've never held the original controller it's based on think it's great. Maybe I didn't express correctly, this 8bitdo has too much travel before the clicks similar to the mini garbage https://www.reddit.com/r/fightsticks/comments/15t60cs/i_was_...

It has the same lame deadzone as the mini pad right ? It's not stiff and immediately clicky like the first model I heard ?

Feels like an analogue engaging a microswitch from what I could see

No.
It’s nothing like that awful mini pad.

Re: What Is the Minimum Number of Buttons Needed for Most Arcade Cores?

I am looking into buying a joystick. I want it mostly for Amiga but want something that can be used with most cores. I only really want one to cover them all as I don't want multiple controllers. Thing is most Amiga joysticks have just 2 buttons which, looking at most arcade sticks, I assume is not enough for arcade cores. How many buttons should ...

Re: CRT vs. LCD "Disadvantage of CRT with Cores"

I've used Mister on various LCDs,OLED but now only use on CRT. the advantage of CRT is that it looks better. it just looks more natural, the way these old games supposed to look, whereas LCD/OLED makes them look unnatural and remind you that you're playing something old and dated. to me CRT vs LCD for retro games is as important as FPGA vs emulator. ...

I had lots of connection issues with both Nintendo Switch Online SNES and Sega Genesis controllers,so I got rid of them. for the N64,Retro-Bit made a 2.4Ghz N64 pad based on the sought-after and well-regarded Hori N64 pad.(many liked it much better than the original N64 back in the day).I'd go for that instead.mainly because of 2.4Ghz reliable conn...
