Re: 0MHz DOS Collection 2024.03.20 Released

This approach is awesome and it allows like a million ways to curate these DOS games. Just reading these posts and watching the videos, I was thinking of having dedicated MGLs for compilations of smaller games. Like there's a bunch of early Capcom Arcade PC Ports that could use a front end loader (via Flynn's TDL). Like upon launching, show a list ...

If you think there are some issues, then you can file a bug here so that it can be tracked:
https://github.com/jotego/jtrastan/issues

Wasn't confident enough to know which sound was accurate, the MAME one or the Mister one. I've been trying to find a video capture of an original Rastan machine to help determine. But thanks for the link!

Rastan Sound Effects

Just did an update all and got the new updated version of the Rastan mra's. I was curious to hear if the sound effects would be different from the previous versions, but they are not. I noticed that the 'grunt' sounds of Rastan in Mister is a lot lower (possibly slower playback?) than the MAME version. Now I used to play Rastan a ton as a kid (abou...

MegaAGS-v2022.11.11 is now available. I cannot find details on what have been changed in it though...

Oh cool -- was not aware of a new release! I believe you can see the diff changes between 11/11 and the 6/6 on the github page.

Re: What Is the Longest Time You Had Your MiSTer on For?

I've had a caseless MiSTer running inside an arcade cabinet without a fan for days without issues. In my experience heat only becomes a problem on big cores such as Minimig or ao486. Good to hear -- although I do use the ao486 and Minimig quite a bit. Does the DE-10 have any over heat protection mechanism like a reset (to get out of the running co...

What Is the Longest Time You Had Your MiSTer on For?

Yesterday morning, I FTP'd into my mister to drop a few files. I did this without turning on my TV. When I was done, I totally forgot to turn off my Mister. This morning I woke up and I realized that my Mister had been on the whole time (~23 hours). I have the aluminum case from Misteraddons and it was pretty warm, but nothing to freak about. Miste...

Re: Interest: Guide for Converting Floppy Disk Images

I only have experience with backing up my Atari 1050 disk drive floppies to ATR image formats which can easily be read by my MiSTER. And for that I used a device called SIO2PC (https://lotharek.pl/productdetail.php?id=157) or for US (https://www.vintagecomputercenter.com/product/10502pc-sio2pc-usb-rev2) and it worked perfectly. This device would co...

Re: Happy 50th birthday, Atari!

My favorite Atari memory is receiving an Atari 1200XL for Christmas from my Dad back in 1983. At 7 years old, this was first computer experience. I had a disk drive and played the heck out of Pac-Man and learned BASIC. Good times.

Re: MT32 and Space Quest 3

This was the very first game I tried when I got my MT-32PI -- if this game didn't work properly, I'd go ballistic. Fortunately, my MT-32 has worked perfectly for every game I've thrown at it. Glad you got your issue sorted.

Re: New MSX Core In The Works

I've read that some models of MSX support MIDI out -- and there's various videos of MSX Vampire Killer playing a MIDI soundtrack during game play. Will this MSX core support MIDI out to the MT32-pi?

Re: Atari 8-Bit Computers

You're absolutely right. I wish someone would create a small interface for MiSTer's GPIO<->SIO to be able to connect all Atari devices which are using SIO bus. Should be doable with no great witchcraft as very similar interfaces exists for Arduino, PCs and many others. The tricky part would be to implement this into the atari800 core... Necrobumpi...

If I recall correctly, to set MT-32/SC-55, it's within the in-game menu options. Select Sound, then select the output method.

Thank you guys so much for releasing this update to the already excellent MegaAGS! One of the main reasons I got a Mister in the first place was to have A500. And now with MT-32 game bundled in?! I think I'm going to cry ... Thank you thank you!!
