Arcadia Core on a CRT?

Still setting up my shiny new Mister. Realised there's also an MPT-03/Arcadia core, which is the very first "touch" with anything video game related in my life ❀ Unfortunately the Arcadia core does not even show the menu, when hooked up to a Sony BVM CRT :( All the other cores see to work just fine. Is there anything I can do to get this ...

2-player joystick setup and mappings - how do you map those?

Latest Mister and cores. 2 pcs of daemonbite controller based 8-button arcade sticks. I'm really sorry, but for the life of me, I cannot grasp how I should get both controllers mapped, so that I can actually play arcade cores, which have a separate Start button for 1 player and 2 players, in 2-player mode. I have tried both system wide mappings and...

Re: Easy way to (auto)center image using VGA output on a real CRT?

Thanks, actually all the computer Cores seem to autocenter very nicely, but some of the horizontal arcade cores are "way off". This happens both using RGB and separate sync and the same signal converted to Ssnc-on-green and configured properly on the BVM. Weird. I did not realize there would be centering options in the core's OSD, I'll lo...

Easy way to (auto)center image using VGA output on a real CRT?

Just noticed that the horizontal centering is quite different between cores. On a Sony BVM some cores are almost 1/3 of the screen to the right while some cores are beautifully centered with the same BVM settings.

I haven't seen any autocenter option anywhere, but that does not mean it would not exist :?

MSX Core and OPL4 Not Supported?

Sorry, second post for today, but after this Ill keep silent for a while πŸ‘

I presume the current MSX core does not have OPL4 support, right? At least I cannot find anything related anywhere. The cool new MSX2+ adventure game Sales Discontinued requires OPL4 to work :(

It runs roms directly, you can also load tapes.

For MSX2 games the only way is to make your own vhds or update the one you have.

Transfer Files to MSX, e.g. Update Files on VHD?

Mister runs like a dream, but I realised that apparently it's at leat a bit different regarding updating the files for your MSX core, when compared to e.g. Amiga core or AO486, which both use MisterFS.

Is there any other way to add files to my MSX core's boot.vhd, other than update the boot.vhd on my Win10 computer and upload it again to the Mister?

Re: How to Map a Atari Style Joystick and Keyboard Simultaneously?

Woops, sorry. I see what you mean. This is specific for only a few cores it seems. Track&Field is one of them - apparently the mapping of keyboard controls is seen by the game as player two input. coin and start etc do work, but the left/right/center buttons on keyboard are then assigned to player 2. And player one is stuck with the one atari ...

Re: How to Map a Atari Style Joystick and Keyboard Simultaneously?

Try mapping both keyboard and joystick from within the core. MiSTer will store the mapping for your joystick, it will not delete it when you remap again for the keyboard. It really works. I use atari one button joysticks as well. Sorry, but for some reason it does not work at least for Track & field and DDII. I noticed that Track & field w...

Re: How to Map a Atari Style Joystick and Keyboard Simultaneously?

It's pretty straighforward, albeit slightly confusing at first. Map joystick and when finished mapping, simply remap again using keyboard only. Your joystick mapping will stay intact and you can use them both at the same time. Thank you, unfortunately I cannot get it to work for some reason. This is what I do: 1. I first map the joystick (one butt...

How to Map a Atari Style Joystick and Keyboard Simultaneously?

My Mister works perfectly, but I don't understand how can I map two different controllers at the same time? I mostly use Atari-style joystick with computer cores, but arcade cores require way more buttons --> I'd need to maps some kays on the keyboard in addition to the joystick already mapped. Could some one walk me through how to do that? Current...

It's a multi load game, handling of which on this core warrants further investigating. I've had problems with it for some time. You can grab the disk version (from Spectrumcomputing.co.uk, for example) and use it in the +3 mode, it works fine. Well, sort of...it's a slideshow. Changing core speed to 7Mhz makes it actually playable. Thank you πŸ‘ Man...

Hi, setting p my mister and just transferred lots of games to the sd card. I then tried ZX Spectrum core and one of the famous (back then) 128k games, e.g. Outrun. For some reason I cannot get it to work, tried .sna. z80 and .tap. It always loads just fine, I can set the controls, but after trying to start the actual game, it drops to the "bas...

Forced Line Doubling on Only One Output?

Building a Mister setup gradually... The plan is to run horizontal cores on my Sony BVM20F1E and vertical on a linedoubled VGA CRT on its side.

Is it possible to force line doubling only on the other output (VGA or HDMI) or would it even be possible to force it per arcade core?

Thanks in advance πŸ‘

1920x1440 is pretty close to the resolution limit on Mister. Obviously you can't output 1920x1920 with the current scaler chip. 1920x1440 is of course sufficient for 4:3 horizontal games, maybe you can output 1440x1920 for the vertical but you'd need to add that line to each individual vertical arcade core.
