Re: Audio pop issue on power and when loading cores?

It's normal with the analog output on the MiSTer. I get a pop or click upon startup and initializing a core. Have you tried measuring the output for DC offset? If there's a large offset this can cause pops and clicks like when it's initialized, which would be my guess. A DC offset when it's triggered or removed will cause a pop or click when the ou...

Yup, it can take forever depending on the speed of your interface. It literally copies bit for bit, so it doesn't care about actual usage.

8 hours or so is what it takes me using this method as well.

Re: Old-school music production with MT-32pi and Cubase

Yes, it's version 3.01. I couldn't afford it back in the day. I had to make do with the cheapo Dr. T. sequencer and a Yamaha FB-01. People nowadays tend to forget how expensive gear was back then. Cubase.jpg Anyway, I'm off to play with my new copy of Ableton Live 12... :) D. Good to see a fellow musician/engineer;-) Yeah, spent a fortune on gear ...

Re: Old-school music production with MT-32pi and Cubase

Hi all, It worked. In Cubase, I can now play the MT-32pi with my keyboard, and record notes into Cubase, having connected the keyboard to the MiSTer with a Roland UM-1 MK-2. Audio is routed from the MiSTer into the Roland Studio Capture sound card. This is my setup. It will get even more interesting if I can sync the Midi and route the audio into ...

Can you link to those similar posts?

Does the choice of chip (8580 or 6581) or filter settings influence this problem?

Are you talking digital (via HDMI) only and/or analog out?

What's your sample rate in the INI?

Sure, check under MiSTer Video Processing Presets: https://misterreplay.com/vault.html There's an all-purpose one for arcade games as well as a couple of alternatives for tweaking. Other presets for C64/Amiga, but requires you also download the matching shadow mask (below, on the same page). These will look great if you've got a calibrated screen. ...

Re: Help with Dell 2007FPB

First make sure your vertical scaling mode is set correctly: vscale_mode=1 ; 0 - scale to fit the screen height. It appears so from the snippet of your INI, which I assume is not the whole INI. Make sure you use an actual, full INI file - make a renamed copy of the main version that works and simply edit the new video mode(s) in. Have you tried a s...

Yup, the Amiga version (by Random Access) is better than the arcade. Fixed bugs, improved the gameplay and sound, while remaking the excellent graphics. The same is true of Silk Worm on the Amiga (also by Random Access), better and improved - even the SFX are better. It also allows for my friends to set high scores on my list, even when they're playing on their own setup - as long as they use identical settings (as shown below the high score table for each game) and I input it for them or they get the password for setting the edit token.

High Score list on iPad [Video]

https://youtu.be/hnzI93I-fGk Since there's no standardized way of saving high scores in games, if any at all, I coded a little website to store my high scores. I've got a cronjobbed script on the MiSTer that reads the active core from a temp file and curls it to my server. A live mode on the website anchors to the relevant game in (near) realtime,...

Re: How Do I Edit My MiSTer.ini File?

You can edit the INI file in multiple ways, here are some of them explained step-by-step: https://misterreplay.com/mister-fpga-guide.html#chapter18 As mentioned in section I.4 make sure you've got the right INI selected. Section III shows you how to remote edit the INI, which can be an easy way of checking for typos or at least syntax errors. How t...

Interestingly the repo seems to say Version $09E0, but I got $09CC when using the Updater.

Thanks for the replies. Wing Commander seems to need a manual setting of the turbo function to Slow, or it won't play nice.

Let's see if the repo for the pack gets updated with the newest menu + other settings. Could be it takes care of itself in future updates.

Okay, thanks - but where is that? I can't locate any such place on the SD card. I can't find it in the menu system itself either.

Is it something you can only find via DOS or a Windows machine perhaps? It's not clear to me where this file is located and how to edit it if it's not in Linux or something you can do on a Mac.

Any chance you know how to change and see the turbo speed in the new MyMenu? This was shown in the upper right corner of the TDL, but it's gone in MyMenu.

Looks like it was supposed to be in the lower line of the menu, but nothing there and F3 doesn't seem to do anything.

So...no worries

How do you see the current Turbo speed (F3)? This was shown in the upper right corner in TDL. F3 doesn’t seem to do anything and no change is shown in MyMenu. The help menu says F3 to change turbo speed, and color changes are noted in both the extended read me pop up and in the color menu (green/orange/red) for turbo changes. But F3 doesn’t do anyt...

Behind this clickybaity headline is a couple of real questions. Having seen long videos and guides, but these lengthy explanations don't seem necessary.
