Loud audio interference with analog IO

I get what sounds like electrical interference from the audio output jack on the analog IO. Is there anything I can do to eliminate or minimize it?

I was thinking of getting a cheap optical DAC to fix it.

Does this also happen with audio coming from an HDMI-VGA converter in direct_video mode?

Re: Road Rash 2-Player Working For Anyone?

Road Rash 2 on the Genesis was apparently split screen. I remember Road Rash on the 3DO being split screen but apparently the manual says it was not.

I don't doubt it. I'm just sure I'm not misremembering it on the 3DO.

No way. :) Road Rash 2P split screen on the 3DO for sure.

It sounds like I should go with the original 3D controller. Can I use it with every Saturn game even if the game doesn't use the analog pad?

The distorted one just seemed like a crash/freeze. I was surprised the one playing audio wouldn't let me bring up the menu.

Re: MiSTer Games Menu - Launch Games from the MiSTer Menu

This is a great script but I've found three problems: Mega Drive toggles itself off in the menu even if it was previously toggled on: https://misterfpga.org/viewtopic.php?p=86871 Filenames are used for game titles instead of full names: https://misterfpga.org/viewtopic.php?p=86874#p86874 Deleting a ROM from the filesystem and regenerating the games...

DK 1 displays some distortion. DK 3 displays nothing but the audio plays. I can't bring up the MiSTer menu after launching either one.

DK Country 1 & 3 Not Working

All of the SNES ROMs I've tried work fine except for DK Country 1 & 3. I've tried getting them from alternate sources but also not working. Have those been a problem for anyone else?

Can this script rsync from one already-installed SD card to another in order to only transfer the difference?

Any games use both sticks?

Here's a list of games that use an analog stick:

https://github.com/libretro/libretro-database/issues/64

I tried a bunch of them but the only one I could find that uses both sticks is Saltwater Sportfishing. Do any of the others?

Super SWIV 2-player working for anyone?

I'm using Hyperkin controllers into the Reflex Adapt. 2P works great on Super Mario Kart but on Super SWIV both controllers just control the single player onscreen. I'm not sure if it's a Hyperkin problem, Reflex Adapt problem, or an issue with the core.

Do I need to u...

Oh wow Blazing Star with less slowdown would be rad. Any tips on finding the Neo Geo and Irem M92 turbo cores?

Is it possible to make update_all download updates for any of these or always manual download for turbo cores?

Re: Retro Fighters Saturn/Genesis controller + Reflex Adapt

I'm sorry to hear that but I'm sure you're right. Any reason to think a new controller with an old console style connector is likely to be lower lag than a controller with a USB connector? If not I guess new controllers with old console connectors should be tested for lag just like USB controllers?

Re: Retro Fighters Saturn/Genesis controller + Reflex Adapt

The BrawlerGen has a digital pad and an analog pad and a Genesis connector and a Saturn connector. I wonder if the analog pad would work through the Genesis connector into a Reflex Adapt into a MiSTer when paying a Saturn game.

Wired stick for arcade cores?

I've been using a Neo Geo stick for arcade cores but I run out of buttons a lot. Any recommendations?

Very low lag is the most important thing for me so I use all of my controllers with the Reflex Adapt, but if there is a good USB stick with incredibly low lag I would use it for this.

Any tips for storing controllers? Wireless isn't an option because I use the Reflex Adapt. Right now I'm just winding each cord around each controller and stacking them on top of each other in a bin along with the adapters.

Retro Fighters Saturn/Genesis controller + Reflex Adapt

The Retro Fighters BrawlerGen controller has two outputs. One for the Genesis and one for the Saturn. Which output should I use with the Reflex Adapt? Would the analog pad work in a Saturn gam...

Re: New Saturn controllers (not USB)

As i wrote, the Retrobit controller has original style controller plugs, you can use it either with USB or on a real Saturn. Interesting. It must convert the analog signal to digital and then back to analog again when connecting to a real Saturn? If so I would think it introduces lag which wouldn't exist with a purely analog controller. Not sure w...
