Re: Saturn Core Not Working

That looks like a great one for CHD files. I don't see any BIOS files there though. I tried searching but nothing relevant came up. Where do you find those?

Re: Saturn Core Not Working

Got it. In that case is Saturn compatible with the gamesmenu script? I don't think gamesmenu would know how to match rom and bios.

BTW is there a favorite source for Saturn stuff on Archive? I'm having trouble finding something that doesn't nearly always end in a failed download.

Re: Neo Geo Not Working With Favorites/Gameslist Scripts

My Neo Geo roms aren't zipped but each game is a folder with several files in each folder like you described. Is gamesmenu incompatible with that layout? I should find individual .neo files instead?

Re: Neo Geo Not Working With Favorites/Gameslist Scripts

I've definitely run those scripts several times as I've tried to get this working. I remember there is a Generate Menu option in the gamesmenu dialog and I've also run that several times. Does Neo Geo work for you with gamesmenu?

Cursor Moves 2 Spaces Instead of 1

Has anyone else had trouble with the cursor that highlights text moving 2 spaces instead of 1 when moving up or down? It only happens in the Scripts dialogs like ini_settings and gamesmenu but it happens every time I move up or down there so it isn't due to accidentally moving twice. The real MiSTer menus work fine. I'm using a Neo II Fighting Stick.

Saturn Core Not Working

I'm trying to play Saturn games for the first time. I dropped a few CHD files on the Saturn folder but trying to load them I get an error something like CD BIOS missing.

Neo Geo Not Working With Favorites/Gameslist Scripts

The Favorites and Gameslist scripts work great here except with Neo Geo. They don't seem to pick up those games and instead act like the folder is empty. Any way to fix that?

This worked great but took 8 hours for 512GB:

Code: Select all

dd if=/dev/rdisk4 of=/dev/rdisk5 status=progress bs=16M

Would it work to use dd to copy one card to a second card for a second MiSTer? If so does anyone know the right dd command for that?

Several solutions there including the above which I'll assume would be overwritten at the next update. I'll see if I can get the router to assign static DNS.

Persistent 8.8.8.8 DNS

Is using the following in dhcpcd.conf the best way to set a static DNS address:

domain_name_servers=8.8.8.8

Will it be overwritten the next time I update?

Re: MiSTer case upgrade

The newer version of the MiSTerAddons case should at least prevent the microSD card from falling in which is good. That sounds great. Any reference online? Any ETA that you know of? I find that another microsd card inserted into a USB reader makes a good tool for removing the microsd card in the aluminum case - or at least getting it ejected from ...

Loading core and ROM together

Has there been any discussion of allowing simultaneous loading of any matching core and ROM? So for example you could browse and launch console games the same way you do most arcade games without first loading the core and then separately loading the ROM. I haven't tried the NFC solution but it occurs to me that it must have this kind of functional...

Re: Launch a Game Quickly/Easily?

I finally set up Favorites and it's great. Is there a way to launch console games directly instead of first launching the core and then bringing the menu back up to select and launch a ROM? Where do the core dates come from? Any console cores I add to Favorites appear alongside --,--,-- like they are missing a date. Can I prevent the date field fro...

Re: MiSTer on PC CRT and BVM

HDMI to DAC to PC CRT, and VGA to RGB to BVM will work optimally with the same MiSTer config?

I'm reading that I should set forced_scandoubler=1 in order to use the PC CRT (from HDMI output in this case) but will that setting interfere with VGA output to the BVM?

I'm not sure what that is. I've used several different types of controllers on the other MiSTer (all with Reflex Adapt) including the same Brawler64 controllers and they worked without going through a registration process. With some games I do have to define buttons (and BTW I always or usually have to redefine the buttons each time even though I a...
