Re: Saturn Core Does Not Launch Games

Even with boot.rom I can't load any game

I put a bios copy into every game folder and have only had an issue launching 1 game out of about 20 I tried this morning. That being Shinobi Legions. I was actually surprised I didn't have any issue with the translation patch games I had.

Re: Sega Saturn Core in Development

Got a couple of translations up and running no problem (Dungeon Master Nexus and Shining Force). However my North American games are all .chd which are not being read. Is there an easy way to fix this or will I need bin/cue for everything? Converted a bunch of them. So far the only title that won't boot for me is Shinobi Legions. Slipped right back...

Re: Starfox FASTROM 21MHz SuperFX Not Working

Maybe not the place to ask this but what is the point of the fast rom hacks if they dont work on original hardware? Surely you can just crank up the emulator/fpgas simulated processor clock speeds to result in an even better but similar position. I must be missing something as why would the ROM hack developers go to all this amazing effort. If I r...

Re: Starfox FASTROM 21MHz SuperFX Not Working

Glad I found this thread. Would this one be in the same boat? https://www.timeextension.com/news/2022/09/new-patch-unlocks-60fps-modes-for-star-fox-1plus2 The patch does not run on the original hardware. Instead, you will need to apply either patch to a copy of Star Fox 1.2 and run it in an emulator like SNES9X, BSNES, MESEN, or Retroarch SNES9X. I...

Re: PSX Core Official Release

It looks like the PS1 Digital group added HDR 10 support via patch injection if I'm reading their changelog correctly. Is that something that could eventually be implemented on the MiSTer core?

Re: How to Properly Setup PSX Memory Card?

Is the PS core different from other cores in that when you go into the menu to trigger the autosave it doesn't give you a prompt? I kind of wish it acted like the other cores in regard to that.

Re: Bug? MiSTer display shifted left after running core. Affects all other cores until power cycle.

I noticed it after getting back to the main game menu while playing Medal of Honor yesterday. Using a 55" C7. It's not a massive shift but it's noticeable. I've also had an issue the last two week after running update_all. MiSTer won't auto reboot when finished, nor will any button presses register to force a reboot. I have to manually reboot ...

I just had C: The Contra Adventure lockup at the second boss (water fountain serpent........yes that's true). All core settings stock except I turned dithering off. Haven't tried again to see if that was the culprit. US region of the game. Also running two sticks of ram.

Re: Where would the second ram module go on the digital IO board if/when required

I know the top icon on the Home Screen that looks like a street light shows how much ram is installed when running one stick. Not sure if it behaves the same way with two sticks.

Re: Autosave

I ran uodate_all and it gave me new nes and snes cores (prob others too) that wouldn’t run games and the auto save feature was greyed out. Nes now boots the disc drive menu for some reasons (fixed it by removing the boot.rom in the folder) and the snes wouldn’t play games like chrono cross, dk1-2, star fox ect. Luckily I had a backup of my origina...

Haha. Just did it with the 7800 folder and it's quite nice. Now I've fallen down a rabbit hole.

Also I glossed over the MS/GG, Coleco/SG100 info. I didn't realize those also pulled double duty. I know WHY they do, just didn't know they did.

Re: Atari 7800 / 2600

Thank you for this. Do you have a 2600 and 5200 set recommendation? Also with the Atari 2600 core being sunset and the 7800 core taking over for it, how do we handle roms? Put the 2600 games in the 7800 folder now? Yep, that's what I did. I have Games/Atari7800/Atari7800 and Games/Atari7800/Atari2600. Same way you might organize for SMS/Game Gear ...

Re: Atari 7800 / 2600

yes, both of them already do. Make sure you're using a decent set of roms as it relies on proper header information. I suggest Trebor's pro pack, which you can easily google. Thank you for this. Re: Update All Timing Out Way To Terminate?

Cancelled it out and started to rerun it again. Immediately on the arcade roms I get Downloading Wizard of Wor (Speech).mra curl: (28) Operation timed out after 179686 milliseconds will retry in five seconds. *update* finally got a cable strung and it's working. Still no idea why wireless was timing out so quickly. *update 2* Still seems to be timi...

Update All Timing Out Way To Terminate?

I set the update all script to run last night to a usb drive. My only option is wireless so I figured it would take a while. Woke up this morning and it's still going and every rom is timing out, however each one is taking three minutes. Is there a way to terminate this script or do I just wait it out? Also I'm hoping when I rerun the script it wil...

Re: Update All With an External Drive

I’m going to bump this as the usb update all is exactly what I plan to do when my storage arrives. The wording of “run this script from there” is throwing me off. Will you place the usb0 zip in the SD cards script folder or do you place it in the root of your usb drive and the MiSTer OSD will see it to run?

Re: Turbo Grafx 16 CD cheats?

Thank you for this. I haven't yet added the update all script to my setup. I'll be doing that when I try to get MAME up and running on an external drive I have coming by Friday.

So where did update all put the cheats originally? Is there a default cheats folder? (I haven't poked into the SD card after getting it up and running).

Re: Turbo Grafx 16 CD cheats?

To answer my own question I came across Gamehacking.org. Are there any other sources besides that?

Also, I grabbed the "MiSTer" version of the cheats for Ys IV and put the zip into the folder with the game image. When I bring up the menu while playing I can see and select the cheats but none of them seem to work.

Turbo Grafx 16 CD cheats?

I've had my MiSTer for about a week now. Everything is coming along pretty well (just got Neo Geo running on an external drive last night) and I like to think I can use google and the internet as well as the next person but where can somebody find Turbo Grafx 16 CD cheats? According to the T16 Github (a site I learned to use after getting my MiSTer...
