Re: Has anyone tried a 1TB MicroSD card in their MiSter?

1TB are very overpriced - that way I could get 2x 512GB cheaper. I have 512GB and wondering if will be option to use IO Board's sd slot as additional storage, but I heard that it is not possible. I don't know about that was reliably able to get a Lexar play 1TB for $60-$70 using it for my steam deck. Will probably get one for the MiSTer but right ...

Re: Best All-Round Controller

I am currently using the PS5 duel sense and a 8bitdo m30 between the two I can play most games and they have the lowest latency wireless. I also have a fight stick with a working coin mech which is the go to for arcade games because there is no substitute to dropping quarters into the stick and getting credits pushing a button for credits is not th...

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Simpsons Arcade two of some of my favorite arcade beat em ups. On the script side we have a whole new NFC system thanks to the Wizzo script so with a simple nfc sticker you on your IRL games you can launch your game interface free. And on that there is a new web interface script thanks to Wizzo again and is hands do...

Re: COIN Mapping Ideas?

I made a custom stick with a real coin mech using the arduino pro micro for a daemonbite arcade Encoder, although if I were to redo it I would go with the gp2040-ce as it supports X-Input, Nintendo Switch, PS3 and even ps4 if you source the right files and would work a whole lot better on steam. And yes the coin mech makes a whole world of differen...

Re: Domesday Duplicator, Merlin, Lasercon, Arthur, Dexter... as a LASERDISC GAMES possibility?

I would find it may be easier to rip the content to MPEG-2 and use a hardware decoder core, Dealing with analog video and proper storage you get huge files that are difficult to even playback. So if you want those games you can make hardware that replicates the experience but is not technically the same.

Re: Neo Geo/Atari Controllers on MiSTer

I made a 2 player sega genesis daemonbite which works , You can also make a neo geo direct arcade adapter with daemonbite or gp2040-ce. Lightguns need SNAC and a CRT as for the spinners I have yet to find a good option as making a mr.spinner is either expensive or requires modding my atari paddles and they still wont have the same sensitivity and t...

Re: update_all From Computer?

Well technically you should be able to chroot into the SD card then run the script but it may only work on an arm device that may be compatible with any binaries so possibly the new Macs

I have a cheap arm laptop will try it out for the hell of it this weekend

Just ssh in you can update it by basically remoting in then all you need to do is run the script. Then again I am used to using the Linux command line.

Re: So Robert Peip (FPGAzumSpass) Is Working on a New Core...

I think we need a Mister II for a better retro PC, N64, all pre-2000s arcades and maybe even Dreamcast FPGA. With current Mister everything we get extra now is just a cherry on top. We may need it but we won't have it because FPGA prices are already high and there aren't any cheap consumer friendly and available FPGAs that both meet those needs an...

Re: Is it possible to make a MiSTer frontend via a front end core?

Well you could ssh in do a ls or tree command parse and then do all the metadata from a phone app or external PC then control the MiSTer through ssh. If that is a problem write a frontend or adapt emulation station UI to the MiSTer and keep the OSD and add enter launcher on the OSD so you can go back and forth as you would want the frontend to clos...

Re: Daemonbite Genesis Problem [Solved]

Have you tried setting up the controls for the core? Each core has it's own button assignment. Other than that you can try deleting the controller configs on the mister, the only other thing is that two m30 wireless adapters don't work if plugged in at the same time and some bugs are in the USB board where if other controllers or daemonbite adapter...

Isn't N-Gage also possible? And game.com? (And I don't know what "things aren't red enough" means. I assume that that's a play on words based on the Vuirtual Boy being red but you are not literally saying that Virtual Boy is impossible because of color.) I don't know maybe, the N-Gage has a very narrow screen and the game.com is in black...

While nice he would have been farther along than he is and would not have to implement as much stuff. So I am going to cross that out. I doubt it is Jaguar as Jotego is working on that so all that is left is 3DO, CDI, Vax11, PDP-11 and neo geo pocket color. NGP is being worked on by Jotego. Yes but there hasn't been an update on it recently and Jo...

Re: Arcade Joystick Recommendations?

Make one, and preferably with a coin mech. If you can make a wooden box put a hinge on top and do some soldering and buy authentic arcade parts you can make a low latency compatible stick that is exactly the way you want it. You can go with Japanese sticks which are all the rage or base on what was in the arcades when you were younger for example S...

I always suspected the problem is power, is there enough power being delivered to the adapter to power two wireless adapters? Thanks - yes that did cross my mind, although I have now tested the 8bitdo receivers separately (i.e. on the original hardware) and they exhibit the same problem, so it seems the issue must be with the receivers themsemves....

When looking at any new platform you need to look at features, price and availability / support cycle. Right now the DE-10 nano is lacking some extra GPIO but has a very cheap price and a long support cycle and is generally available(current world situation withstanding). So What I see any alternative so far may have the extra GPIO but is way more ...

I didn't mention the Konami Bemani as I think most of the DDR games and other spin off rhythm games got home versions on PS1. Although track differences probably exists. There are so many different versions plus all the guitar and drum games plus the Martial Beat . Being able to put a MiSTer in any of these machines might be a fun proposition
