Re: N64 Core

I checked the checksums and they were all right. Then I installed the MiSTer_20240110 build from https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/Main_MiSTer/tree/master/releases With this build, the N64 Core WORKS, yippee! After that, I tried with the mister build form den MISTer-DB9Distribution https://github.com/MiSTer-DB9/Distribution_MiSTer Though according to...

Re: N64 Core

Have you tried to delete the config file for the core? I remember other people having an issue with black screen and from what I recall it helped to delete the config file. I just tried and deleted all N64 files from the config folder. Doesn't help. Can someone point me to an older version of the core before Robert integrated SNAC? Maybe it's rela...

Re: N64 Core

hmm... not sure... saturn core works w/o problems and all other cores too... actually the only difference is in the snac as DB9. Since I'm for sure not the only one with a DB9 version, it would be interesting to know if others also have the same problem.

Re: N64 Core

The N64 Core is not working on my Mister (DB9 @Antonio Villena). I tried Everdrive .z64 roms and NoIntro .z64 roms, located on an external USB SSD in ...USB0/Games/N64. Boot.rom, Boot1.rom and NB64-database.txt is in the N64 folder of the SSD and in the N64 folder of the SD-Card. When I start the core and select an .Z64 file, It loads the file and ...

I haven’t tried the latest core, but I can do those jumps easily on my real machine, but struggle to pull them off on MiSTer.

So wouldn't that mean that Mame is more accurate than Mister, at least on the Donkey Kong core :-(

Re: Donkey Kong: Walking Sound Hack?

Found this issue on Github. Is this bug actually still in the core? I'm not a skilled enough player to reproduce this: "Mario actually has varying times on how long it takes to do his second jump, depending on the incline/decline. This allows for something called 'Gardikis jumps' where, on the top girder, you can get 100 points twice for backj...

How are the DB9 repositories updated?

Hello, i'm just wondering myself how it is ensured that the db9 repositories are always up to date? At the moment, the Donkey Kong core does not get updated by update_all to the latest version on a DB9 Mister. My understanding is, this is because in github in the DB9 section, the most recent version is the one from last year. https://github.com/MiS...

Re: Donkey Kong: Walking Sound Hack?

Make sure you don't have another old donkeykong rbf file in _arcade/cores on your MiSTer. That is what I had (probably an early test version with updated audio). Hmm... I deleted the rbf file and update_all downloaded the same (old) dkong from 230316 again and installed it. Is it possible, that this is an error because I have the DB9 version from ...

Re: Groovy_MiSTer Core

This reminds me of the "Sunshine" Server with the "Moonlight" Client. They are both available for many devices. I tested this last Weekend and it works like a charm. The good thing is that the controllers are working on the client (Moonlight) and get routed to the server (Sunshine) and even though there is no (noticable) lag (to...

Re: Expanding the forum to include other retro gaming?

This forum is very low traffic, I doubt that any new non-MiSTer topics will get much attention (sadly). My feeling is, that with the start of discord the traffic became lower. I personally don't like discord as a "support" platform. Nothing is sorted, you don't find things, it's a chat. But many ppl seem to see this different. (Or I don'...

Is the 2600-daptor II the recommended one? I dont really get the differences especially with all the question marks in the comparison chart.

I bought a pair - they work great. The pots in them have a much more resistive feel to them than my OG 40 year old paddles with their OG 40 year old pots, but this is to be expected.

How are these controllers connected? Snac?

Out of curiosity, which old arcade games do you find still have missing or unplayable sound? I have to go through my list but right at the moment these games come to my mind: Galaxian (background sound odd), Frogger (Music odd/wrong), Donkey Kong (playable but sounds not right), Q-Bert, not sure about Crazy Climber... mainly most games with (partl...

Re: Individually Bootable VHDs for Each Game

I guess my main question right now is whether the Lemmings VHD works without any twiddling on the MiSTer side of things. It does for me but I don't like to claim success from n=1. If we get a few more successful tests here, I'll know what to do for the others and release them too in short order. Unless I don't do something wrong, it does not work ...

The boot process sets up the core speed itself and everything else for me. No Interaction required other than picking standard pc at startup. What CPU speed do you get with the preset you use?

It starts as "User defined" with 90MHz L1&L2 ON

and this Video: https://youtu.be/akgru2jscZ8?si=1bfm3kWm0t-MMeqX

the Cassette Player in Journey should be emulated with a sample file. However, I put the zipped sample file in the sound folder but it's not working for me...

Doesn't help unfortunately. This doesn't change the refresh rate from 30Hz to 60Hz. I also tried some other mode lines that did not change something for better. Also I'm not sure if it is possible at all to change the analog refresh rate with mode lines? Is it?
