Re: AmigaVision/MegaAGS 2023.04.05 Released!

Thank you limi, you were right. When I checked the copied files on the SD card, not all was present - something must have gone wrong in the copy. I re-did it as you suggested, and now all is well.

And it is quite mindblowing, this is really great.

Re: AmigaVision/MegaAGS 2023.04.05 Released!

Please help me to run MegaAGS! I am a MiSTer user, new to MegaAGS. I tried to install AmigaVision/MegaAGS 23.04.05 on the MiSTer, sourced from archive org, and following the Setup instructions at amiga.vision/docs. I have copied the specified list of MegaAGS directories to the Mister SD card, it is about 8GB of content. And I have edited mister.ini...

Re: Zero Wing by Toaplan Arcade Core Released

Did the old OPL2/audio issues with some of these cores end up getting resolved, which were (among other things) preventing Truxton music from playing all it's instruments? To answer my own question: no, there are still serious music issues in MiSTer's version of Truxton. This is not a complaint. I simply play the game on other platforms until such...

Re: Just Set Everything Up, No Extra SDRAM, What Cores Can I Run?

The GBA, Genesis, and Turbografx16 consoles are your best options without SDRAM. Endless fun to be had with those.

Also, as just mentioned above, some of the Arcade and older Computer cores.

A less known one: you can play DoDonPachi without SDRAM!

Re: No Power Light or Image on Screen

Can you rule out your computer's MicroSD card reader/adapter/whatever you're using to write the cards?

Because a lot of those are cheap and terrible. It could be that your MiSTer is fine, and that the problem is actually your computer corrupting every MicroSD card it touches.

Re: New To Jotego, Can’t Load ROMs

Hi, all. I recently came down with COVID-19 which has given me a “nice” little hunk of time with which to poke at my MiSTer, whereas I usually put what little free time I have toward more simplistic plug-and-play platforms because I’m not particularly tech-savvy. Surprise, MiSTer is super plug-and-play! However, I discovered the Jotego cores and a...

Re: How to properly extend an OTG cable?

Re: making your own / modifying an existing cable to be OTG. Just be aware that some of the generic MicroUSB cables out there don't even have the 5th contact present within the plugs (it's just blank/plastic, instead). Which makes those particular kinds, difficult-to-impossible to modify into OTG cables. However, some other generic MicroUSB cables ...

Re: Joystick does not work

If your joystick does not work in inputtester, then you may not have configured it correctly. Do this once: After switching on your MiSTer (and before loading any gaming core), you need to go to System Settings menu (usually by press Menu Back button, or Escape on keyboard) and run the "Define joystick buttons" routine. -- If you do not r...

Re: Zero Wing by Toaplan Arcade Core Released

Pretty awesome cores. I will spend a lot of time using them.

I noticed one of the Tatsujin musics in this MiSTer core needs the bass enabled or something. At the first main boss tank.

Re: Building MiSTer on a budget!

What are the dimensions of the heatsink? Ideal heatsink dimension is 22 x 22mm. Mine is about 20 x 16. So it mostly fits on one dimension. On the 2 sides closest to the GPIO blocks, there are naked edges of a couple mm. I gave the heatsink a thin layer of thermal compound, reserving two tiny corners for a tiny (~1mm) dab of superglue. I aligned th...

Re: Building MiSTer on a budget!

For me, building my MiSTer on a budget meant: * going without the RAM module for the first month, until I could afford it - played lots of GBA + TG16 + Genesis games that month! * not bothering with any other kind of add-on board - to someone with no money they are just an expensive commoditisation of simple circuitry and port extenders * soldering...

Possible to manually wire some IO Board functionality direct to the DE-10's GPIO pins?

Context : I intend to connect my DE-10Nano board to an SVGA PC monitor. Is it possible to manually wire some IO Board functionality direct to the DE-10's GPIO pins, using own basic components? I am primarily interested in the VGA-out port. I am accustomed to doing this sort of thing with basic Arduino projects and DIY's, but I need guidance on cir...
