Re: 9.7" iPad Retina Screen Perfect for MiSTer, $60 Fully Assembled 😄

I received my screen protectors a few days ago. Really great that they were available again. I thought they'd be out of stock permanently. I was on eBay for unrelated reasons and saw a suggestion to buy more. I have all I need, but I wanted to share that info here since several people have asked about them after they went out of stock. I'm glad yo...

This reminds me of Mario Paint! Back when it was first released, Nintendo encouraged players to use their VCRs to capture their work since the ability to save that work the cartridge was very limited.

Re: N64 Core Development Ends

Considering it was commonly thought the N64 was impossible on the DE-10 Nano, development ending because it can go no further than it already has should in no way be considered a failure.

This is a triumph! I'm making a note here: HUGE SUCCESS!

Excellent work, Robert! I hope you enjoy your well-deserved break.

Unrelated but just wondering if you have to hold down the button for low gear? I thought it would work as a switch between low and high but in my case I have to hold down gear and accelerate to be in low gear and release the gear button for high gear - not super intuitive - am I doing something wrong? That's correct. I verified this with Jotego be...

I find that another microsd card inserted into a USB reader makes a good tool for removing the microsd card in the aluminum case - or at least getting it ejected from the slot. I'm not sure what you mean. How does a second microSD card connected via USB help? You're not plugging the microSD card into any USB slot. You're using a microSD card inser...

I find that another microsd card inserted into a USB reader makes a good tool for removing the microsd card in the aluminum case - or at least getting it ejected from the slot. Actually grabbing it isn't made any easier by doing this. I will most often manage files over the network unless doing so is going to take far longer than just plugging the ...

I guess the formatting of the ID just seemed weird to me. It looked like a placeholder rather than a valid code. I might try it without the underscores anyway.

Is that the right CartID?

Re: Expanding the forum to include other retro gaming?

I would be in support of another section for discussion. Just because there is only a moderate amount of traffic here doesn't mean there can't be some sense of community. With the addition of the Groovy MiSTer core, we have more reason than ever to start talking about software emulation end games not yet given the FPGA treatment.

Re: BIOS Freezing After Update On Mega CD

SD cards, especially Samsung's, are often counterfeit. Did you get yours through Amazon? They mix their own stock in with their marketplace sellers' stock - which isn't verified. That's how people will sometimes randomly get a fake. Amazon used to have a specific Samsung Evo Select model that was only made for and sold by Amazon. Those would always...

Hmm. Well... I will not claim to be an audio expert. Perhaps you are hearing something that I cannot!

How does the PlayStation version of this game compare?

By the way, I have been listening to the soundtrack all day at work because I love this game! :D

I am away from home right now, but I saw this website linked to a similar discussion on this forum by the user "held". https://raylin.wordpress.com/downloads/md5-sha-1-checksum-utility/ The above site shows you how to check the checksum (also called the hash) of your files on a Windows computer using a free program (the download link for ...

Re: Castlevania - Symphony of the Night (v1.0)[Meduza Team]

You're welcome! Before you spend money (which I doubt is necessary), I would at the very least find the checksum values of your game files to see if they are different from the ones I listed. That's the easiest, fastest and cheapest way to determine if it could be a slight difference in the files responsible for your issue. If you are not sure how ...

MrsBison - so as not to derail the other topic on the Saturn, I am replying to you again here. I am not having the sound issues (I don't think) you've described. My MiSTer was purchased in January of 2022 as a complete kit from MiSTerAddons.com, and I believe that means I have SDRAM revision 2.9. I have an aluminum case on my MiSTer, so I can't see...

I think I still have my NGPC buried somewhere. I was really excited to get it at the time. That is until I couldn't get any games for it. You just couldn't find any in any of the usual game stores, and then it was just gone after that. I think I played Capcom vs. SNK the most, but the other two games I had just weren't great, and I honestly can't r...

Happy new year everyone! I've purchased usb-c version of the screen from Aliexpress and really enjoying it so far. However, still have some questions. 1) Although the included hdmi cable is trash (already ordered the higher speed 2.0 cable), it seems that bundled black usb-c cable is decent and can potentially be some sort of a "thunderbolt&q...

Does the controller have slow responses when plugged in via USB? Might be worth a quick check to rule out a hardware issue with the controller. USB is no problem, plus this is my favourite controller, so I kinda use it everywhere I can on the regular. Works totally fine through USB. I'll do a short temporary update saying initial impressions of th...
