Re: Groovy_MiSTer Core

Try ping and run mistercast to see if your pc is indeed linking to your mister. If it does ping but mistercast doesn't work then I suggest double checking firewall.

Tried with 'groovymame_0262.220a_win-7-8-10', and with 'mame_nogpu_28.7z' and 'mame_nogpu_24.7z'. No .rbf test release files worked beyond the color graphic animation. Double check if you're using gigabit ethernet cable. On task manager see if you can go over 100mbps.

Re: Groovy_MiSTer Core

Are there any recommendations for watching video in 480i resolutions? I can play games in interlaced resolutions using GroovyMAME without any issues greater than an occasional frame drop, but capturing MPC-BE with MiSTerCast causes immediate failure of the stream on all resolutions above 320 x 240. Are you using latest builds? https://github.com/p...

Re: Groovy_MiSTer Core

Usbip going from mister to linux pc adds around 0.33-0.50 ms according to Calamity so I'm guessing groovy mister implementation could be something similar. Would be interesting to see lag test but I think it feels pretty good.

Re: Groovy_MiSTer Core

I recently tried to go to the 0325 version and also the 0327 version and could not get it to work. I followed the instructions. Putting the original one back worked again. I think it locked up when I tried if I recall correctly. I am hoping I can eventually get the new versions to work, but I am not sure what could be causing my problem. I didn't ...

Re: PWM on 18-bit DAC to get 24-bit Color

It's a bit hard to see from the pictures I took above but psx 240p test color bars are not ramping smoothly via my analogue io board without PWM but they're much smoother with PWM. Very clear to see inperson. There are still spots that are not smooth but much better. It's impossible for me to tell the difference in actual psx in-game 15bit graphics...

Did you get it working with just using dhcp?

Which version of groovy_mister are you using? 20240125 (stable) or 20240302 with new lz4 compression? Mistercast with support for the new lz4 is not released as of time of this writing.

Make sure to try PWM version of groovy_mister if you're using analogue io board VGA. Makes big difference on games and videos with a lot of gradients.

Ruleset made GroovyPWM. This is great for people using analogue IO VGA.

GroovyPWM running grooby dolphin mario sunshine on analgue VGA to active Y/C composite. You can see the sky is smoother compared to regular groovy below

Some people have good luck with v2.4/2.5 sdrams. My friend got v2.5 from eBay in 2020 and it's running great like v2.9/3.0 rams. Some people on discord also had good luck like one v2.4 from misterfpga.co.uk in 2019 and v2.5 misteraddons dual ram. My v2.5 misteraddons single ram is not good. Would anyone here with good v2.4/2.5 ram share where you g...

480i is slow for me (on Mister side) but 240p is nice. Sound is a bit hitchy and some image glitches here and there but looks great and feels nice overall.

Re: Groovy_MiSTer Core

This is an amazing project and love how low latency it is. I'm now trying out RetroArch and can successfully run games, however, consoles like the DC, PS2 & Gamecube are not working for me. I saw that there was an update to support hardware rendered cores. The cores run fine on the PC if I specify a retroarch.cfg file without the necessary Gro...

You could try Remote extension. It has screen shot function. It captures at native resolution so you might need to resize.

New updates (20210121) look great. Using PS1 240p Test Suite color bars, way less red shift on dark blues. Darkest reds and greens also look better. They looked kind of grayish previously. At least on my plasma tv via component.

I tested it a bit and it's really awesome. I had a lot of trouble with direct video setup so this option is really great. Really nice to regain dual output in my setup also. Is it possible put PWM in Saturn core and Groovy_mister? Here's comparison on my small consumer Trinitron. My phone does a lot of color processing so please ignore the color. I...

I'm new to screen lag testing so would like to double check with you all. I get different numbers for top, middle, and bottom rectangles on my CRT and OLED tvs but all three numbers are same on my plasma tv. Is that normal? Getting different numbers for CRT is expected but I don't know about OLED and plasma.
