Re: New Rotary Joystick From GRS in Pre-prod Testing
Finally tried testing mine today on Ikari Warriors and Midnight Resistance. Can't seem to get it working properly. For Joystick config I set rotation with a spin of the rotary stick. Spinning the stick in game does work, but it's way too imprecise. Characters always spins way more than a single rotation no matter how I set the sensitivity in MiSTer...

Re: Which X68000 games 100% work with midi on the MiSTer via MT32?
I was exploring this a while back, based on a Wikipedia list. Hoping the core becomes compatible with MT32 for more games, but there are some others that worked for me: Angel Dive (Midi music by default) Granada (Hold right mouse button on boot, to hold button to left of Help on virtual keyboard) KU2 (set in config) Sol-Feace (same as Granada) Anyo...

Re: Perfecting Vectrex Overlays
On a related note, would it be possible for the overlays to be grabbed by the update script? I remember it was discussed a good while back but don't think anything came of it. Definitely a good idea, but overlays need to exactly match the rom names (definitely want them to auto load), so we’d probably want those distributed by the script as well, ...

Re: PC98 Core
Since I can't run that disk tool, I made a converter from FDI to D88 in Python , based on my previous DIM to D88 converter. Usage is: python fdi2d88.py <input file> <output file> Huge props for the Python script. Thanks so much for sharing. First try it worked great, then I tried Hellhound and Phalanx .dim files and got an error: "raise Excep...

Re: Perfecting Vectrex Overlays
Very cool, @alanswx. Hoping that making Vectrex overlays super high-quality and accessible will rekindle interest in this awesome console. Careful what you say about your skills, because next request from me is going to be an opacity/transparency setting for the overlay like the software emulators have

Re: Zero Wing by Toaplan Arcade Core Released
Thanks, @jca. I'm all set now. As painful as this is to admit, I do so in hopes that it will help others avoid my mistakes. How you grab things in Github really matters. Right click and save link as got me html, not the properly formatted mra files. And there's an actual download link for the crucial .rbf core. Grabbing the source files correctly m...

Re: Perfecting Vectrex Overlays
I probably have an off by one issue when I made the FPGA code. Do you think we can correct it with the PNG? Or should I try to go into the core and fix it? I need to look at the code again. Thanks for the quick reply. It's probably possible, chopping off a strip of pixels on the right side and pasting them to the other side, but that would add a l...

Re: Zero Wing by Toaplan Arcade Core Released
OMG am I excited about this core, THANK YOU. However, I'm having a little trouble getting it set up, probably a n00b mistake on my end, since I'm new to MiSTer. Anyway, I followed the previous link and downloaded everything. Put the .rbf files in _Arcade/Cores and the 4x .mra files in _Arcade. Then I ran the update_all script. Now the games appear ...

Perfecting Vectrex Overlays
Hi, I'm new to MiSTer and hoping to help out a little bit with the greater community where I can. I'm a big Vectrex fan, playing it extensively on Vita/Switch/EmuELEC (vertical monitor setup), and I'd love to tighten up the way overlays look in MiSTer, hopefully even share some improved/new overlays, too, but I'm definitely going to need some assis...

Re: X68000 Beta - Updates and Releases
First off, congratulations on making a relatively complex computer system and game format so playable. I found the latest core and .hdf games really easy to fire up and start playing. I was also really impressed with the overall compatibility. I'm new to MiSTer, but a long-time X68000 fan via emulation (EmuELEC), and I've spent quite a bit of time ...
