N64 Switch Controller Issue with N64 Core

So I have two of the N64 Nintendo Switch online controllers. I have one of them connected via Bluetooth to my MiSTer. Everything seems to work well except for the up and down inputs from the analog stick. I can move the curser left and rift using the analog stick but up and down doesn’t work on any game I have tried. I have tried both controllers I...

Re: .neo ROMs Required

Its an incredibly bad idea to run a random exe from any web site. You never know if its been compromised. The Neo sets is available on a certain archive site. If you have a computer with any type of sensitive information on it that you don't want to be compromised then yes, don't download any file from the internet that you haven't confirmed that ...

Re: .neo ROMs Required

I know that .NEO files are not required. I just know that a lot of people that get into the MiSTer are going to be lazy or get frustrated and give up. I made this post to try and help the people that are new to the MiSTer and not the seasoned veterans that now five different ways to play Neo Geo games. With that said, I came across a web page that ...

.neo ROMs Required

For all of the new people starting out with the MiSTer project that want to play some Neo Geo games. The format that your legally attained ROMs need to be in is the .NEO format. If you're like me and had a hard time figuring out how to get your legally attained ROMs in that format I'm here to help. Months after I had already had a collection of ROM...

Re: Converting PS1 Saves to MiSTer?

So I’m a moron.

I just added a “d” at the end of the “.Mc” file extension, copied the file over to my MiSTer SD card and it worked perfectly.

I’m now able to load up all of my save files from my 10+ memory cards. I love this project so much!

Converting PS1 Saves to MiSTer?

I have a bunch of old saves stored on a stack of memory cards. I also own the PlayStation memory card adapter I bought back when the PS3 came out. I found a program that lets me read and save the save files from my cards using the adapter. I'm just at a loss as to how to convert them to a format that MisTer can use. The program I found saves the me...

Re: X68000 Beta - Updates and Releases

So I was never able to find the Tonton collection on the internet but I was able to finally find a collection that has every game in it's on .hdf format. Does anyone know if I can combine them into one file? Also, I assume I just start up the core, mount a .hdf file, and reset the core and I can play the game correct? Check Pezz82's YT video from ...

Re: MT32-Pi Issue

...switched it to HDMI to see what would happen and I didn't get any midi audio from the MiSTers HDMI port. output_device = hdmi is for HDMI audio output from the Raspberry Pi, not the MiSTer. I figured as much. At the time I was trying anything I could to get my retro fix of MIDI audio. Thank you very much for your work on this project. Between y...

Re: Analog Controller Sensitivity / Deadzone

You can't walk, you can only run in the first Metal Gear Solid so it's not really "true" analog control. Only option for going slow is crawling. That must be it then. To be honest it’s been a year or two since I played MGS last. I just thought I could walk in the past. Thanks for the info. I’m going to whip out my launch PS3 and see how ...

Analog Controller Sensitivity / Deadzone

So a few minutes ago I fired up my MiSTer to play some Metal Gear Solid with the PSX core. Once I could finally control Snake I noticed there is a somewhat large dead zone and it’s either run or stand still. I could be wrong but I thought there was more control over how Snake moved when played on original hardware with a dual shock controller. Is t...

Re: MT32-Pi Issue

Well I must have made an error with my config file. I reinstalled all of the files to the SD card again and didn't get any midi audio at first. Then I switched the output_device to pwm to check if I got sound from the headphone port and I did. Then I switched it to HDMI to see what would happen and I didn't get any midi audio from the MiSTers HDMI ...

Re: MT32-Pi Issue

I switched the output_device = pwm and was able to hear the midi audio through some headphones connected directly to the Rasberry Pi 3 B+. So there is a problem with the audio being sent back to the MiSTer I would assume. I followed the instructions and set that setting to i2s and nothing could be heard from the MiSTer.

Re: MT32-Pi Issue

I double checked my config and I had simple_encoder instead of simple_buttons. When I changed that I was then able to see the option for the MT32-Pi in the on screen display menu for MiSTer in the X68000 core while trying out Dracula. To Xbytez: I have the v6.1 Analog IO board. I bought it from https://www.misterkits.com/ a month or two ago. I will...

MT32-Pi Issue

Hello All, I recently got into MiSTer and I love this little thing. It's letting me play all the games from my childhood and I love it. After reading up on the MT32-Pi I decided to buy a hat from someone online and throw it on my old Rasberry Pi 3 B+ I had collecting dust. I followed the instruction on the Github site and the youtube videos I found...

Thanks for this. I'm going to try this out tomorrow.
