I just realized that it has to have the blue led on and not red.

I have the saturn 2.4ghz and the genesis 2.4ghz retrobit controllers and none of the buttons work - only the d-pad. Found the solution. That physical sw3 toggle on the de10 was the cause of the problem. While researching online i came across a forum post that said you must toggle SW 3 in the direction away from the memory.. In order to enable VGA output physically. Turns out that's BS . So it took me weeks to figure out that maybe that guy was full of sh*t when ...
