Re: MiSTer PCXT

It seems to run just fine on the Tandy 1000 bios, PCXT set to 9 Mhz. Memory config set correctly for Tandy graphics, etc. I'm getting pretty close to a stable image that can be shared, but might still be a while. I want to get github updates configured with this vhd so I can make sure I can update the readme.ans and autorun scripts, etc. https://w...

Do we know why basica based games like asteroid pilot dont work? Just wanted to know its a known issue or its on my side. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SYWeklvQHQs If you try PCem/86Box you will see the same problem. It is not a core problem... searching a bit on the internet, it seems that the bug is because the . BAS file is in binary and you ...

Re: Why Doesn’t the Lion King Run Well on the AO486 Core?

I did some tests, tried under Windows 95 and 98, could not get Lion King to run. Maybe it was a special Windows version of the game? I did not try to do anything special to run it, just did not seem to get anywhere. Might be that it just takes a few minutes to start I guess. I just used the exodos zip file, extracted in a folder on c drive and ran...

Re: Why Doesn’t the Lion King Run Well on the AO486 Core?

Just tested running Lion King at 90mhz inside Win95 - initial stutters aside the game runs full speed. Crashes when running in dos mode. Interesting. Is this with or without lvl 2 CPU cache enabled? Maybe I should experiment with some different memory managers, this suggests it could be because Win95 has some memory protection. DPMI or something l...

Re: Interesting Tests We Could Run For x86

Asteroid Pilot:

Basica based game (speed sensitive, run well on PCXT class machines)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6a09BmsHjzA

This does not run on the PCXT core. Seems like Basic uses a method of accessing disk which is not currently supported? Not sure.

Atari 5200 Controller Issue?

I am using the keyboard as joystick, I map the buttons and then use scroll lock to go select Joystick 1 - only the direction work. If I use scroll lock to select joystick 2 only the buttons work (not directions). Is there something I am missing? Thanks.

Why? can't we just patch in memory? I'd rather load a patch on top so I wont have to touch the ROM at all :D

Re: MiSTer Vs Original Nintendo Battletoads Clinger-Winger The Ultimate Lag Test

Please note that the Retroarch core being used is Nestopia. MESEN core (Retroarch) on a good HW is as much lagfree as MiSTer. MiSTer has one core for each system which matures overtime that makes it great. Software emulation if done correctly on a good HW would be equally good. Also PI3/4 are not Retrogaming devices nor are powerful. Comparing MiST...

Re: X68000 beta core preview - 10/14

Looking at the github page linked to the Youtube video, there is no mention of Puu san, https://github.com/Kitrinx/X68000_MiSTer so most likely this is a complete rewrite of the core and not using Puu san's core as base. So it might not have the same issues I mentioned that happened on Puu san's core.

https://youtu.be/kXx9S7pgK5A So many awesome new things happening with the X68000 core. Not ready for primetime yet but getting there! Since you mentioned Parodius was running well, the original core by Puu san crashed starting to mid Stage 2. Did you go up to stage two? 1. Strider will not boot. 2. Super Street Fighter II would hang after one or ...

Re: X68000 Beta - Updates and Releases

Hey! I've been thinking about trying out the X68000 core, but I need some help: 1. Is this a good time to try this out if you don't know much about the X68000, or should I wait for an updated core? 2. Where do I get the newest/best core? Is there one that's better than the official distribution? 3. How do I run a game on it? Is there a good guide ...

Stop cherrypicking. I don't have the time or inclination to produce "evidences", but you are wrong. I am out of this conversation, I wanted people to realise what you saying is not true. I have no interest or time talking to you. People can make up their own minds, I provided evidence with timestamps, you provided conjecture. Whatever. T...

But to those of us who were paying attention and providing this feedback, the evidence is clear as day that the original plan was to automatically start pushing out what is essentially adware to users that were completely unaware of the situation. That's no evidence at all. This was a new process and things were not all sussed out properly. There ...

i do remember when CPS1 was being worked on, people were comparing the core to actual PCBs, but im not seeing this same dedication with arcade cores lately. Its on going, maybe since nullobject doesnt have a central discord you miss it. There are some really good testers who are testing DDP core and have been testing it since beta 2. Dont worry ab...

Try with Turbo mode on. It doesnt happen with the Turbo mode on. 12mhz is currently simulated with Turbo mode on till the ram controller is reliable. WOF was a 12mhz game originally.

Re: CPS 1.5

There's already a new v3.0 board in production (a cooperation between Sorgelig and Ricardo), but frankly, I don't believe it's needed for the time being and with what we have. Jotego should examine his proprietary SDRAM controller more closely, instead of issuing "tests" left and right. I believe you are wrong. Also JT has mentioned he w...

Re: CPS 1.5

There's dozens of arcade cores that have worked fine without a lick of sprite corruption and the problem with his cores was fixed through software so it's absurd to blame caps and flux for the issue. Though I do suspect sea level rise due to global warming might be partly responsible. Sorg on facebook has said he isnt ruling out caps. I really don...
