Works fine for me. At least i could load and play Level 1 a bit. I used this TOSEC disk image (st format)
Rolling Thunder (1986)(U.S. Gold)
TOS=1.02, 1MB RAM.

Version 2.6 works fine for me on Mister. Just tried the first 3 levels.
Still has Beta status. Only patreon supporter can play it yet. The rest have to wait for an official release.
Salamander 2 is still broken. It's a reported issue.
It depends, i guess. By grabbing sets with CHDs compressed images you never know what you get (which CHD version, what compression rate). I'm really too lazy to CHD all this stuff on my own, to make sure it works as expected. Larger SD card/SSD storage isn't that expensive anymore, and i don't need full sets for every system on 1-2 cards/SSDs.
That's why i never use CHD compressed stuff. There are always some kind of sound/music/sync issues that you notice later ingame.
Sure, if you have a Github account:
For "In the Hunt" you have to disable the joypad in port 2 (in Mister Core settings). Then it boots fine. It's a game bug, happens on real Saturn hardware too. Same for Shinobi X/Legions.
Search for "MiSTer Pack Add-on - NEOGEO 2020-05-12". These are already to .neo converted roms. They work fine on Mister. If not then something is indeed wrong. Try a different SD card.
Dead of the Brain doesn't have PC-Engine mouse support. So, this won't work. Unless somebody would do a mouse patch for the game.
You don't. I was only necessary in older test versions.
All issues with the current core are listed here. The audio volume issue in several games is known too.
No, it doesn't need TLB. It also works without any patches to make it compatible with the current Core (like Super Mario 64).
Both of these Roms from the No-Intro Set are working without any problems for me:
Ogre Battle 64 - Person of Lordly Caliber (USA)
Ogre Battle 64 - Person of Lordly Caliber (USA) (Rev 1)
Make sure you use the current "N64-database.txt".
I only tried one CHD compressed game so far, and that one worked fine. Was a T-ENG patched version of Silhouette Mirage.
edit: Also tried a random game from this archive.org collection (DecAthlete (USA).chd). Works fine too.
Sega - Saturn [Redump] Collection (CHD)
I would never delete the old Genesis Core. It e.g. supports overclocking which helps a lot in games with massive slowdowns.
Check the "alternatives" folder. It's there.
The recent progress is fantastic. A lot games are working nearly perfect now. The latest core also has sound for Sega Ages Out Run (standalone with hidden 60fps support).
Try the Japanese version, or the US version with the hit points restoration patch. It's much easier since you have a 3-hit points life bar (but the patch misses the unlimited continues from the original Japanese version).
The button/key remap option is now permanently saved. Get the latest unstable Mister main.
Use No-Intro roms. If you have the older GoodRoms (your posted rom name suggests that), they mostly have rom headers which is often a problem.
Banjo & Kazzooie runs, Tooie not.
I actually prefer Denise, which is pretty much what you'd expect from a modern and accurate C64 emulator these days. Haven't tested the MiSTer core that much though. Some demanding scene demos are always a good test case.
