Re: Narrower or wider hv integer scale?
On a 4K panel myself and so far wider seems to be the closest on the cores I have tested. An automatic mode would still be a better option though IMHO.

Re: Automatic horizontal integer scaling implementation on SMS/Genesis/potentially others
I think in theory this would eliminate worrying about aspect ratio setting if Sorg implements Yim’s idea of having an “auto” option that will choose narrow or wide based on which setting is closer to the correct AR.

Border/Overscan Options
Would it be possible to have at least three options for border/overscan? Original- Every pixel output by the core is visible untouched. Yes you would see garbage along with a colored border (depending on the game), etc. (this is completely missing right now) Black - Border/overscan area is colored black. (this seems to be the current setting when o...

Re: Automatic horizontal integer scaling implementation on SMS/Genesis/potentially others
With a 4K LG CX OLED monitor, will it be best to enable this running MiSTer at 1920x1080, or would 1920x1440 be better?

Re: Automatic horizontal integer scaling implementation on SMS/Genesis/potentially others
So in theory, we just set AR to 4:3 when horizontal and vertical are both running in integer mode now?

Re: Automatic horizontal integer scaling implementation on SMS
Yes! Pretty sure this would also fix border mode aspect ratio for the Mega Drive and Mega-CD cores that is currently wrong.

Re: Automatic horizontal integer scaling implementation on SMS
Damn dude...this sounds really cool! I hope the other devs are open to a 1:1 pixel mapping mode (or whatever it will be called).
I need to try and learn this stuff so I can fix Mega Drive / Mega-CD borders too. Just need more time!!

Re: Automatic horizontal integer scaling implementation on SMS
Nice! So there would be no need for aspect ratio settings if one wanted perfect pixel mapping?
Also, this will theoretically work for games that change resolutions during game play? I think I remember Vay for Mega-CD changes resolution for battles.

Re: Automatic horizontal integer scaling implementation on SMS
I’m still a little confused by this...
Are you trying to achieve perfect horizontal AND vertical integer scaling at the same time?
If so, then would this achieve perfect aspect ratios assuming square pixels?

Re: Border Mode & Aspect Ratio
Rysha has confirmed that the aspect ratio is incorrect when border mode is enabled, but has no interest fixing it anytime soon because of her dislike of borders (which is fair...her opinion). I would totally fix it if I knew what I was doing haha. Just wanted to get this documented on the forum in case someone smarter that I would like to take shot...

Border Mode & Aspect Ratio
I have asked about this on Discord before, but figured I should get it on here as well. I would like to see border mode enabled by default and with the correct aspect ratio ...along with the overscan area shown. This would be true to the consoles native output. Plus, I have heard some games would change the border color depending on what is happeni...

Lunar 2 Not Loading
Latest 01/24/2021 core. US 2.21 BIOS with core set to auto-detect. BIOS loads without issues. Game music is heard for a split second like it is trying to load, but just a black screen. This repeats over and over.

No luck...I ended up getting a 2nd OLED (the CX) for my battle station and moved the MiSTer to that display. Works perfect now.

Re: LG C9 OLED & 1920x1440p
I got 1200p to work, but the aspect ratio is all messed up...which got me to thinking. 2560x1440p would be the best resolution for a 16:9 native display like the C9, but that will not happen with current MiSTer hardware. I think for now...1080p with integer scaling enabled will have to do (for me).

Re: LG C9 OLED & 1920x1440p
Does anyone know what timing standard MiSTer's HDMI uses? (e.g., GTF, DMT, CVT, CVT Reduced Blanking) Did a little more looking and it looks like nVidia's custom resolution settings will tell you all timing info except for horz/vert "back porch". UPDATE - I am almost positive nVIDIA is using this CVT Reduced Blanking timing: video_mode=19...

I tried both the 60 Hz ones you posted Grabulosaure..., but no luck. :/
Thank you for trying! It really is weird that it works with a nVidia GPU, but not MiSTer. I have no idea how to see the timing info nVidia is using for this resolution.

Re: LG C9 OLED & 1920x1440p
As a reference, here are the VESA timings for 1920x1440@60Hz if I am understanding correctly:
video_mode=1920,128,208,344,1440,1,3,56,234000
https://glenwing.github.io/docs/VESA-DMT-1.13.pdf
I tested and it does not work. Also, tested yours mambrino and no luck.

Nintendo VS. System & PlayChoice-10
I was going to post this under the NES forum, but after reading on Wikipedia, I decided these should fall under the arcade section of MiSTer.
Is anyone working on or planning to work on VS. System and PlayChoice-10 arcade cores?

LG C9 OLED & 1920x1440p
Hi All, I have a LG C9 OLED and the new 1920x1440p option will not work in MiSTer. What is odd is that if I set my computer (using HDMI) to 1920x1440, the LG works just fine and I get the pillar bars on each side since this is a 4:3 aspect ratio. Does anyone know how I can get the settings that nVIDIA use for 1920x1440 and then add said settings to...
