Re: Arcade Cabinet dual wired for MiSTercade and I-PAC2

Hi Kimberley, I don't frequent these forums very often, hence the late reply! Did you ever get anywhere with your build? Mine is still in the design stage (due to moving house and etc.) but I should start putting things together finally this Spring. Dual Wiring Buttons - Basically this is not a good idea to just directly wire two inputs to a butto...

Re: Arcade Cabinet builds and MisterCades: DIY, custom made orders, conversions, etc.

I know very little about MISTer. I have only watched a bunch of videos on YT. I am now waiting for MISTer kits to become available again so I can buy my first MISTer kit. With this I want to build a video arcade machine with the MISTer at the core instead of a Windows 11 PC with MAME (and LaunchBox and LEDBlinky). If anyone in this group can make ...

Re: Replacement Displays for CRT Regarding MiSTercade and DIY Cabinet

Hi, sorry for the late reply but thank you.
I did already see the video about it and it made me order one.
I still haven't received the display yet though, a lot is going wrong with the delivery by Fedex and initially even the order itself.
But basically, I 'have' one haha.

Re: Arcade Cabinet builds and MisterCades: DIY, custom made orders, conversions, etc.

Does anyone have experience with ‘dedicated’ replacement displays to use instead of a CRT? With dedicated I mean displays like the Unico (as used by Unico in the MVSX cabinet) and the Arkoon models. These have an actual mounting frame already integrated and are meant as ‘drop in’ replacements for CRTs. Unlike the Arkoon display the Unico displays e...

Replacement Displays for CRT Regarding MiSTercade and DIY Cabinet

Hi, Does anyone have experience with ‘dedicated’ replacement displays for a CRT in a arcade cabinet? I came across 2 displays that have actual mounting frames for this purpose: the Unico displays (17” version that is used for the MVSX cabinet, but they also have a 19” and soon 26” versions) and the Arkoon display. Retrorgb has a video review of the...

Re: Arcade Cabinet dual wired for MiSTercade and I-PAC2

Hi, I’m working on something similar but with a slightly different approach. I wanted to start a thread here, but I found yours and wanted to ask you some questions before I start a new thread. I too want a dual setup, for both a MisterCade and (most likely for now) a RPi. One of the things I was thinking about and which you have asked about in thi...

Thank you very much. But I actually came across and downloaded that document a few minutes ago while trying to find information about the mini-Toslink port :D

Xbytez wrote: Tue Aug 23, 2022 6:32 pm On the digital IO board, both the TOSLINK and mini TOSLINK sockets should be providing digital optical audio out simultaneously.
Then I will contact the seller about a possibly and partially defect board, because no matter what I can't seem to get a signal out of it unlike the regular Toslink port.

Re: Hardware, manuals and OSX software questions

The mini toslink port is exactly that, mini toslink. It shares the footprint of a 3.5mm audio jack and can therefore be used as both an analog and digital audio source. You can purchase very inexpensive mini-toslink adapters for your bog standard optical cables if that's what you have. I think digital IO boards from MisterAddons and the like are f...

Re: Hardware, manuals and OSX software questions

Indeed I overlooked that website, but some answers couldn’t be found yet. Like the mini toslink port on the digital I/O board: the main documentation website claims this is an optical port. But as far as I’ve been able to understand this is not a combo connector like found on Macbooks which can handle regular analog audio using mini-jack, but also ...

Hardware, manuals and OSX software questions

Hi, What's the best resource/place to find guides for installing hardware and find its manuals, here? Even though I just found the instructions for the RTC board: Is there like a central website which focuses on those kind of installs? The Blisster board for instance seems to be absent from the main documentation website? If I wanted to edit things...
