Re: What Adds Input Delay?
It seems to me that super low latency just "feels good". Totally unscientific, totally subjective, maybe placebo, but its like my lizard brain likes low latency haha. Like a kind of realism or something is added, an immediacy I guess you can call it.

Re: ADC & HD Audio Connector on MiSTer Mini-ITX Ironclad Plus
In regards to soldering, I'm actually quite proficient at it OK my bad :) maybe there's a way to probe the header somehow and see for yourself? I mean it says HD audio, which should mean it should have the same pinout as this this pinout but....you can kill hardware in a PC if you somehow hooked this header up wrong so yeah. I have a hunch this mi...

Re: ADC & HD Audio Connector on MiSTer Mini-ITX Ironclad Plus
NP. It helps to know your motivation here. So you are doing this because you don't want to run a cable out of the back of your case to the front for cosmetic reasons? Am I correct in assuming you don't know how to solder? (I always used those crappy screw terminals before I knew how) If so, it is not hard to learn. You need to buy some stuff and be...

Re: ADC & HD Audio Connector on MiSTer Mini-ITX Ironclad Plus
I don't have Ironclad but, is this impossible? Probably not. I'd just email the manufacturer about something specific like this. My concern is jumper wires and screw terms don't really reject interference well. Someone more experienced with tape can comment, but I'd be worried about data integrity and definitely use solder and probably shielded wir...

Re: Setting Up VRR
Random thoughts on this from my own learning: IMO just experiment and see what looks best to you. Make sure to turn on Adaptive Sync (or VRR or whatever its called) in your monitor's internal settings or it won't work haha. Try all the other VRR modes like FreeSync. vsync_adjust results can really vary depending on display, you should experiment wi...

Re: No Multiplayer in some 2 Player Core GBA Games
Yeah so I have the same GBA2P version and there's no change, can't see the other player when trying to link in ROTK and Two Towers.... My MiSTer is fine otherwise, I have no fancy hardware and my software is an update all clone; no custom scripts or anything. And Shining Soul 2 multiplayer works first time, every time, never have an issue with othe...

Re: Is it worth it getting a RTC?
PS the idea of opening the mister case for replacing the RTC battery is reason enough for not recommending that board at all Ok, agreed that is annoying but you have to do that like once every 7 years or something right? I'm assuming its like a motherboard. Anyone know how long the coin cell lasts in MiSTer? Anybody have to replace theirs yet? Cur...

Re: Is the Noctua Fan Quiet? What Are Other Ways of Reducing Noise on MiSTer?
Other ways? :) No one has tried immersion cooling yet to my knowledge? Mineral Oil is a common DIY coolant. Immersion cooling has some real benefits until you need to get hands on the hardware. Nor Liquid Radiator loop Cooling? Liquid cooling FPGA is a thing , unsure if the DE-10 nano has any blocks for it. DIY liquid cooled MiSTer lets make this h...

Re: Comprehensive External Drive Tutorial?
Hey there, sorry I can't help with a guide exactly, but been doing some googlin'. There are a lot of ways for HDD to not work haha. Maybe you can try these fixes? and the more info you post the better, thanks. #1 Do you have enough power to run your drive? Make sure, this can cause hard to diagnose problems. You might need a bigger PSU. If yes, jus...

Thank you so much!you didn't exit that last game properly and reset or rebooted the core instead. that will leave you in this state. delete the e:\launch.bat batch script and reboot. Make sure you exit the games using the in game exit instead.

Re: AO486 14092022 update instability
I have a weird issue since this update-
I boot AO486, I get into the menu to select RAM options and for some reason it immediately starts the last game played without any opportunity to choose another. I haven't been able to work around it either, not by deleting configs, nothing.
Sorry I can't help more kold666

Shot in the dark but it sounds similar to issues people have had with CEC HDMI displays, there's a thread here discussing:

Playstation Classic Controller - Any Good vs SNAC?
So yes original controller and hardware are the best, no argument. However the playstation classic wired USB does actually pretty damn well with barely over 2 ms input latency (according to https://rpubs.com/misteraddons/inputlatency) These controllers are like 20 USD on ebay which is probably around the same price as a real Playstation one. So I'm...

If I could make a proposal- could we include quality of life romhacks with each new game? For example running is just annoying in this game but it doesn't have to be https://www.romhacking.net/games/2443/ Cause I feel like people complain about quality of life stuff in these older games (and I agree) but check out romhacking.net and many of your pr...

Can't help but post even though GBA game selection is closed sorry haha  Final Fantasy Tactics Advance is one of what I think of as "comfort food JRPGs". You know what I mean maybe? These are usually easy, chill, wholesome games with nice vibes and relaxing grindy gameplay. Another example on the GBA would be Harvest Moon Mineral...

No Multiplayer in some 2 Player Core GBA Games
Hello and thank you so much to everyone contributing to MiSTer I wanted to report a weird issue with two games, and just with the GBA 2 player core. These are The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers and The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King (USA, Europe). They load up fine but when attempting multiplayer, both games time out looking for other pla...
