I might be missing something, but I'm only seeing 24 games 7th guest - Command & conquer, seems any after that alphabetically aren't in the list of zip files?

More than 4 config files?

I'm mostly covered by the main config and 3 alt files, but I've got 3 different crts(svideo to TV, rgb to Commodore 1084, computer vga), and multiple lcds(1920x1200 horizontal, 1600x1200 setup for vertical games), and sometimes try out some of my other displays as well. Does anyone have a good solution for swapping between more than 4 configuration...

Re: Racing Wheel Controllers?

Does anyone with this wheel want to try to pull debug info from Main MiSTer binary over UART and tell us what each of the axes and ranges are? In the main menu, MiSTer will log when you make inputs. Any details on how to pull the debug info? I can probably give it a go this weekend. From a quick google, looks like I can just hook up a usb mini to ...

Re: Racing Wheel Controllers?

Any chance support for the xbox 360 wheel will be added to this feature? I would never usually spend money on a wheel, but found the 360 one at a goodwill for like $10 years ago. Works great on the 360/PC, would be awesome if it worked with the PSX core on Mister!

Really looking forward to this one! Is there any documentation or basic writeup of some of the difference between this and the ao486 core? What sound options will be supported, graphics modes, etc?

Edit: Should have googled of course, found a good listing here of features: https://opencores.org/projects/next186_soc_pc

Re: MiSTer BGM - Background Music for the MiSTer Menu

Is anyone else getting music still when they launch a core? Seems like it just starts a different song once the core launches, and then it's playing over the top of the game sound with no way to stop it. After another run of update all/reboot, seems to be behaving better. I can launch into the nes/snes cores and it's not starting up a new song. On...

I totally understand it's a new script and still being worked on though, just thought I would chime in with my experience.

Re: White Settings Display Background and Font

Something seems off with your colors. The mister menu is usually black background with white text. The games you mentioned are Jotego cores, the menu in his cores should be a grey background with white text. How are you hooking up your video? Maybe check the Sync on green switch on your analog board if you're using that?

Re: Anyone know what these new Adaptive Scanlines are?

It looks like these should be in the snes/nes/a0486 cores and some others, I tried them but I don't think I'm getting the adaptive scanlines(confirmed I have the 2/12/2022 versions of these cores). Are there certain filters you need to set to see them, or a separate setting? I see the same filter options as before for horizontal. vertical, gamma, e...

Re: PlayStation Core SPU audio For Single SDRAM Released

I noticed when I would boot up without a game I wasn't hearing the chimes after the initial deep synth sound, but only when it dropped to the purple memory card/cd boot screen. If I booted to a game I would hear the fading chimes at the end of the boot before the game starts up. Could be how the original system was, don't want to hook my PS1 up rig...

Figured it out. I had downloaded from #test-builds on the discord, that version didn't have analog out, the version from unstable-nightlies worked. Hearing that PSX bootup sound the first time on the Mister was awesome!

Re: PSX Core SPU is Now Feature Complete

Has anyone had luck with the new single sdram build? I have downloaded it (PSX20220122.rbf), and single 32 meg module installed. Confirmed other cores have sound to rule out cable/speakers turned on, etc. Menu options seem to indicate sound is enabled, ram type for sound greyed out and shows DDR3 which makes sense with the 1 module. Am currently us...

Arduino to control MiSTer power

I'm trying to use an old shuttle xg-41 case for my mister and I would like to use the existing power button on the front of the case if I can. It's a momentary switch, so I'm trying to use an irf520 mosfet, controlled via an arduino nano as a switch to pass through the 5v wallwart power to the Mister. I think my circuit is fine, I can get other dev...

Any cheap/fairly close dev fpga boards?

I've played around a bit with building some simple code examples, outputting basic color gradients to the screen, etc, but want to go a little further. I don't really want to have to swap out the SD card or worry about interactions from all the mister stuff hooked up, so I'm considering a second de-10, or if there's something relatively close in se...

I've got a M-audio uno usb to midi interface, but in the nes core, I don't see any serial options in the right menu. I do see a serial option I can se...

This is super cool! I keep meaning to do some projects with my DE-10. I got about as far as generating some color gradients on the screen a year ago and haven't had time to tinker with it since. Re: Sort Directories first in Roms

Unzip the roms. Problem solved. I'll probably end up doing that. Only had them zipped originally as I had an 8 gig card I was using originally, have since moved to a 512, so that makes sense. I was hoping there might just be something like _ or another character I could add as a prefix that would be auto removed by the UI and sort higher, but I'm ...

Sort Directories first in Roms

Did some Googling and forum search, but not finding anything. Is there a good way to have directories show up first when browsing roms? I see the arcade cores seem to sort directories at the top, but for example, when I bring up roms for NES the directories I have are mixed within the roms. All my NES roms are zipped, so show up as a directory, but...

I've only got 1 Tomee Nes to USB adapter at the moment, so we played with 1 original controller, and then a USB Snes clone Retroflag controller that came with a raspberry pi Snes case I bought years back. I haven't done a ton of latency testing, but it's certainly way better than when we were playing on my PC via emulation. I've had the MiSTer for ...

I looked for forum rules, hopefully the occasional on-topic self promotion post is ok! Re: SHMUP Slowdown / Accuracy of Arcade Cores

I think you're underestimating how much the devs have played the real PCB. As I understand it, most of them have the PCB in their possession and have likely played the game on the original PCB hundreds of hours by the time the core is nearing completion. I don't know how close these cores are at this time, but it's not like improvements aren't bein...

Re: No sound from HD, working fine from FD

When you say games running from floppy, are you booting from the floppy or booting from the vhd then typing a: and running the game from the floppy? If it booted from the vhd, it shouldn't matter if the game runs from floppy or vhd, that makes no difference for whether the sound will work. It might just be that the games you have on floppy images w...

It's definitely not dos4gw specific as I know I ran at least a few games last night that use it and they worked fine, but I did hit the same crash when trying to launch Descent. Haven't played around with my configuration much yet, just using a pretty basic autoexec/config sys.

That's awesome, I hope those signals are available on the ao486 core, and that you can get something similar working there. Drive sounds were a big part of the nostalgia! Most of my gaming growing up was on DOS PCs, so anything that can makes ao486 better is exciting to see.

Re: Floppy motor signals

I would be surprised if that overhead is emulated in the fpga, seems like it would be easier to just wire the floppy controller to stream in data from the .img files. Could be wrong though, but curious on what project you have in mind? Maybe audio to emulate drive access sounds?
