I use this cable from Monoprice. It seems to work well on my Trinitron.

Re: tty2tft Soft & Hardware Add-On (shows core based pictures and videos on a color TFT display)

Did you have to tweak the code to change the position of each virtual button to do that or do all the buttons work (especially that return button) with the positions that RealLarry set? We already spoke to each other. His buttons are at the exact position like mine, except the return/trash can button. For the next update I'll either set a new opti...

Re: tty2tft Soft & Hardware Add-On (shows core based pictures and videos on a color TFT display)

Nice update to the touch screen buttons warham! :) I made some changes for mine as well to give it a more "3D" feel. 000-touchscreen.jpg I like how you have all the buttons spaced evenly. Did you have to tweak the code to change the position of each virtual button to do that or do all the buttons work (especially that return button) with ...

Re: tty2tft Soft & Hardware Add-On (shows core based pictures and videos on a color TFT display)

Update time! I just released the "open binary" 220801 No changes to the code but for the two libraries ESP32Time (time module) and GFX_Library_for_Arduino (display drivers). The project is declared "done" and free for all under the license CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 (Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International). No more restric...

Re: Split core into separete cores for SMS and GG

Yeah, I’ve since changed my file’s name from “GameGear.mgl” to “Game Gear.mgl” to make it look better in the list. I did something similar. I like to have all my Nintendo/Sega/Atari/etc. systems grouped together, so I renamed the files to "Sega Game Gear" and "Sega SG-1000" as well as updating their <setname> attributes to matc...

I'm in the same situation. Unfortunately the clock always has the wrong time on my MiSTer. :(

Re: tty2tft Soft & Hardware Add-On (shows core based pictures and videos on a color TFT display)

Hi all. I threw together a small enclosure that can be used to house the 3.5" TFT screens and posted it to the Printables website in case anyone else wants to print one. I kept it the same style as my MiSTer case so that it would match. It's a two piece box that snaps together, but ideally would be secured by two screws from the bottom going ...

Many thanks for that! With your permission I'd like to throw both images into repo's basic media equipment. Absolutely! I’m happy to make any contributions to this pr...

Re: tty2tft Soft & Hardware Add-On (shows core based pictures and videos on a color TFT display)

I'd have to say that adding this little color screen to my MiSTer setup has really taken it to the next level. I was blown away when I first came across tty2oled (thanks Venice!), but having a larger color screen that can display images and movies opens up so many options for graphics/media. RealLarry has also been awesome to work with on resolving...

Re: tty2tft Soft & Hardware Add-On (shows core based pictures and videos on a color TFT display)

This is great news RealLarry! I wondered if there was a way to improve the contrast on these ILI9486 screens as most of the pictures that displayed on mine were very washed out. I assume we have to update the binary using the wget command thru SSH? I tried the updatetty2tft script and it said that my ESP32 was up to date. Please advise. Erm, no, y...

I've got my TFT display and the ESP32 device connected to each other. When I do the "Test" the flashing completes successfully through SSH, but the screen just shows as bright white with no graphics. For the Saturn logo I think all options should be available. This gives variety if you use alternates or lets you pick the one you like the best if you don't. I think the color of the screen might have a big impact on the appearance of each one. Yeah, we are having all options for that. That's why tty2* is having an (default enabled USE_RANDOM_ALT...

Re: MiSTer Multisystem Handheld Prototype 'Handy'

A larger screen would be ideal for those of us whose near vision has failed in our older age. LOL! The Steam Deck has a 7" display which seams like it would be a nice, big size. Having HDMI out would also be awesome so that the device could be plugged into a hotel TV when traveling.

How’s the tty2tft project coming along RealLarry? Having full color images (and potentially video) for the MiSTer would be pretty awesome. :D It's alomst finished but needs some code cleanups. I'm planning a release in the near future. One can say "when it's done", but doesn't take so much time like Duke Nukem Forever :) Very cool. 8-)

I think so. Very cool. 8-) Which logo is displayed on the screen when the screensaver runs? Testing on the unit I got from you now. Looks like it alternates between a MiSTer logo and TTY2OLED logo that bounces around the screen periodically. And definitely works on your NodeMCU. Good to know. Thanks for testing that out! :) Example: CMDSAVER,1,10,...

Re: tty2oled Soft&Hardware Add-On (Shows Core based Pictures on a Display)

The display is not set to the maximum brightness, to limit the chances of burning in. Still, if you use the same cores a lot there is a chance of it happening (alternative logos should help prevent that a bit). RealLarry mentioned the idea of the display turning off automatically, but that would require a similar solution to changing logos every n...
