Re: What Are the Reasons to Own a MiSTer Without a CRT?
Even without a CRT the experience via MiSTer as a end user is far better. I have tried software emus in comparison recently and some of the multi system setups are horrendous to use.
The HDMI scaler is a great feature and low latency. MiSTer was built around HDMI from what i have seen too
In the end it doesn't really matter the choice is yours

Re: C64 MiSTer RGB vs C64 Reloaded MKII S-Video
For 8580 SID I recommend the recent test build of the core as the digifix was causing issues and it's switchable on the test build

I finally managed to complete a route in Outrun arcade, only took nearly 40 years...
This was done on Cannonball on the PC though

Re: N64 Core Development Ends
What Robert has created is some piece or work and we should be very grateful for the effort put into it
MiSTer has cores some with their origins dating back decades which are not perfect so he has nothing to be sad about

Re: Copy One Micro SD Card to Another?
There is a Migrate SD script that will clone the card directly on MiSTer and expand to a larger size at the same time. Its not the fastest due to the DE10 IO but works very well

Re: How to fix the sound issue in C64 core?
There is an issue with the digifix being applied wrongly to 8580 samples and music but there a test build which adds a manual toggle now.
Can you give us more info ?

Re: C64 core test build with switchable Digifix for 8580 SID
After spending some time testing it yesterday it's surprising how much having the digifix always on was harming the 8580 sound.
I only noticed the issue after building a couple of BMC64 builds for friends and ReSID used by that doesn't have the digifix.

C64 core test build with switchable Digifix for 8580 SID
This test build allows the digifix to be switchable for the 8580 SID and removes the extra noise from the music and samples designed for the 8580 SID

Re: I want to design the perfect "catch all" controller for MiSTer and emulation
Doesn't the 8Bitdo SN30 Pro cover the majority of bases well enough ? Dual analogue sticks and decent Dpad
A gamepad style controller is not ideal for old computer cores where joysticks were used though, so there can never really be one controller to rule them all

Re: DB9 to USB wiring
Antonio used to sell a DB9 to USB adaptor
Edit
He still does
https://antoniovillena.com/product/db9-to-usb3-adapter/
There is also no way to extend the standard SNAC to a different USB connector. There are only headers for USB 2.0 on the Ironclad board
