Re: Commodore 128 for the MiSTer?

Erick5, Thank you for the core. TuffyDK. I installed manually the core and boot files downloaded from the Erick distributution repro. I change the Video output while loading games and apps. I use a VGA CRT Monitor. We'll get it sorted. Aren't computers fun  Computers are fun, when it WORKS...  :D Well, I just wait for the update or...

It was in the distribution repo and I verified it downloaded before posting in the release topic, but it's gone now. ???

I tried Update and Update_all script - And No adding C128 to Mister :-(

We'll get it sorted. Aren't computers fun

Update all does not grab the core. Does the presence of a mra folder confuse the script?

Re: Floppys and Virus

Many years ago when I first got my Minimig 1.1 I would download stuff from Aminet using Bluetooth to serial adapter and the Roadshow TCP/IP stack. Anyway, I ended up getting "Happy New Year 96" in the (many years late) from Aminet. I would recommend running this program (VirusZ) https://www.vht-dk.dk/amiga/vz/vz.htm to remove and detect ...

Automount Your External Device (USBKEYS, SSD, HDD) Everytime you Start MiSTer

Hi I prefer to have my games on USBKEYS - I have for now installed 2 USBKEYS on my Mister, and I know that sometimes those 2 USBkeys wont always be mounted as /media/usb0 and /media/usb1 (if you have 2 usbkeys) Sometimes the do switch around, so to be sure always to "lock" em at the mountpoint you want, you can do this simple "trick&...

Re: Floppys and Virus

Out of interest, what does MGL mean in that context? I'm trying to parse it, and am failing completely. https://mister-devel.github.io/MkDocs_MiSTer/advanced/mgl/ 'MGL Files MGL files are used as a custom method to load games directly from the MiSTer FPGA's Menu core.' That, and also a way to launch cores with alternate setups, e.g. having a dedic...

The switch could also just be bypassed. The official design doesnt have a switch on it other than on the Digital IO board. So easiest would be to just bridge the switch and live with turning it on and off by the mains

True so true, but I need the schematics for that button, or the real button, so I can use a Ohm-meter to find out my self.

Re: amigastore.eu

its kinda "smart ass" switch - LOL. Yes just my thought - Do it your self and hey, I only paid around 650 eruo's for it all inclusive... Hmmmmmm!! Well it has been running with the Toothpick which holds the button like its pressed all the way in - And it has been running for around 8 hours in total without any errors, reboot or disconnect...

Re: amigastore.eu

I haven't bought a MiSTer from them, but I've bought items from amigastore.eu multiple times without problems. Slightly related, a long time ago I found a brand new CRT (only a few months old), that had been thrown out by an office nearby. Turned out it turned off by itself. A similar fix to what you are using was needed, I held the power button d...

Re: [New version!] SD Card Migration Utility for MiSTer: An easy way to migrate to a new SD card, no PC required

Hi Natrox. I've a 128G SD card in my Mister and want to get a smaller SD card, like 32GB, cuz I moved all the games (/Games) folder to a USBKey (/media/USB0) If I run your script, will It only look at SD card at (/media/fat) and copy it to a new SD card, or will it scan for other attachments like my USBKEY?? Perhaps its a good idea to pull out my ...

Hi all. I just wounder if there are others who had bought the MISTer FPGA from AmigaStore.eu (https://amigastore.eu/en/866-mister-mini6-128mb-fpga-computer.html) I've bought one and after 7-10 days of use, the power button on the Mister fpga mailfunctions and only works if you hold it in all the time. Well I found out if you use a toothpick and pre...

Re: Floppys and Virus

While I don't have the definitive answer to your question, you could mount your collection read-only over CIFS and implement write protection that way. Nothing could even hope to write to your floppy images then. I would think a reset from the OSD amounts to a full power cycle on the Amiga, and nothing would survive that.. It does bear some testin...

Floppys and Virus

Hi. I have found a BEEP load of demo adf's on the net. My question is now, everytime i load in a new floppy by pressing on df0 and choose a new .adf file, then do a reset. If the first disk has a virus on in will it survive the reset function in mister/minimig and spred to the other disks (there is no write protection in the menu's, YET I guess) Re...

It does sound like MiSTer SAM (Super Attract Mode) got installed and activated as well. A bit odd that the update script would activate it.

One solution is to run the MiSTer_SAM_on script, press up while it is starting to enter its settings and turn off the auto run option.

That seems to do the trick - Thanks man :-)

Hi there.

There are no Attract_Mode.ini in the scripts folder (/media/fat/Scripts) or anywhere else on the SD card or USB Key (Usb key for all the games tho)

What else can it be???

MiSTer Starts Running Random Cores and a Random ROM?

Hi all, I've just bought a fully assembled MISTer FPGA, and it works just fine. I've been running update, and got the script update_all as I have run too. I have enabled all I can enable, perhaps its not a good idea, cuz now after 30 sec or so, my MISTer starts running random Cores and a random rom, like starting NES and a rom it can find, and star...
