Re: The “Cycle Accurate” Conundrum and Is There a List of Cores That Are?
There's pretty much nothing you can do in FPGA that you can't do in software, except efficient mass-scale parallelization The importance of this can't be understated. This is not quite correct though. An FPGA is a real-time computing platform. A CPU, even without an OS, will never be a true real-time platform. True, you can get very, very close wi...

Re: N64 Core Possibility? (Update! Robert Is Working On This Core!)
To be honest I think the bigger thing that may come of it is an actually viable and accurate software emulator which has never before existed. Accurate? Yes, definitely ... Robert's emulator may be the most accurate N64 emulator ever created, the "bsnes of N64". But that is also applied to the performance (bsnes is brilliant but not exac...

Re: MiSTer Weirdness with ARC Audio
fwiw, I have my MiSTer connected in my living room using ARC and everything is working as expected. Setup is MiSTer connected to a Sony X900H with ARC from the Sony to a Yamaha RX-602S receiver. This worked without the CEC filter, although without the filter CEC would break completely as expected due to the known issue with the CEC pin on DE-10 Nano.

Re: So Robert Peip (FPGAzumSpass) Is Working on a New Core...
I’m sure nobody wants to say it because “it’s impossible”, but this could be the N64 core that everyone is dreaming of … Robert has expressed significant interest in creating an N64 core in the past. If it is in any way possible, Robert would be the man to pull it off. Maybe DS is more likely because he has already done a large amount of work there...
