Re: Issue with USB Bus Crashing

After a year of this issue driving me crazy this was the cause of the problem. I never suspected the switch because I didn't lose power to the DE10-Nano. I happened to discover this was the cause while trying to get my Retrotink 5x working with Direct Video and banging my head on the wall. I noticed moving the unit while everything was connected ca...

Re: Direct Video Using Component/YPBPR Into Retrotink 5X Issue

I got it to work by using a different component cable. Weird it worked with my TV and not the Retrotink 5x.

Direct Video Using Component/YPBPR Into Retrotink 5X Issue

I'm having an issue where my Retrotink 5x isn't working when connected to Mister with Direct Video to component. If I choose the YPBPR SDP setting on the Retrotink I see an image that is washed out which is to be expected. If I choose svideo I see a crisp black and white picture. The normal YPBPR setting yields no picture. If using the vga output o...

Re: Issue with USB Bus Crashing

Is this the standard MiSTer USB board, or a different USB hub ? USB (prior to the 3.0 standard) was current-limited, both at the individual port and the overall hub level, to a much lower current rating. It is possible that your set of devices (especially the keyboard with LEDs) is exceeding that limit. USB 3.x introduced higher current ratings at...

Terrible Range with RTL8821CU WiFi+BT Adapter

Is there a wifi+bt adapter that is known to work better? I can't seem to sit more than 7 feet away without BT disconnecting. I could connect it to a USB extension cable but rather just buy a new wifi+bt if anybody knows of a better one. If I need to use an extension cable I might as well just use a USB controller.

Issue with USB Bus Crashing

I have a mister hub 2.1 with 4a Mean Well power supply and have an issue were the USB bus seems to crash until a reboot. The only things I plug in are are various keyboards and RTL8821CU wifi+bt adapter. The issue seems to happen faster if I use a USB keyboard with LEDs on. These are all common logitec keyboards. If I turn the LEDs off on the keybo...

Instead of using the built-in video modes, try spelling it out yourself. It will create different blanking parameters that might work different.

Code: Select all

video_mode=1920,1080,60,cvt

You can also remove the cvt and try that too.

''

Thanks a lot. This worked & don't really understand why. Is this a bug? It works with and without cvt flag.

1080P Display Issue Other Resolutions Work Including 1440P

I can plug my mister directly into my TV and get the mister working but when hooked to my Pioneer receiver it won't sync. If I force display mode to 720p and 1440p it works just fine however 1080p doesn't. Most cores I have tried work fine but when loading the Saturn core I lose sync. I wonder if it's trying to use 1080p. Obviously my receiver work...

Re: MiSTer Weirdness with ARC Audio

I suppose it is the well known problem of CEC broken on the DE10-nano. I am no expert but this kind of problem has been discussed many times on the forum. I just found the issue. I'll try removing shoving pin 13 in on an HDMI cable and if I fail will buy the adapter. That is a weird problem that has been making me tear my new TV apart for days.

MiSTer Weirdness with ARC Audio

I just upgraded my TV to an 85" Samsung q85n and I am getting weirdness when the Mister is attached directly to one of my HDMI ports or even indirectly through my pioneer receiver HDMI port. I spent hours trying to get my ARC working again and narrowed it down to the mister being attached. I removed all HDMI connections from everything but the...

Re: Guncon 3 Accuracy

Ok I finally got decent accuracy. First off i was using a curved panel 65" tv. This wasn't actually the full issue as my accuracy was off more vertically than horizontally. I went a bought a new 85" TV and had the same issue vertically but horizontal was better. The bigger the tv the further you have to backup for accuracy and my DIY emit...

Re: Guncon 3 Accuracy

Just tested with Sega CD and I was able to get it pretty close the way you described aiming off the screen a little. Honestly I think this can be corrected with software if 2 option. One for x y offset and another that acts as a sensitivity. Imagine being able to add an offset in each direction. Next a sensitivity option can be added for the x and ...

Guncon 3 Accuracy

I picked up a guncon 3 and made my own light emitters that seem to be working well. I tested it with the Gangstertown on the Sega master system and I am having trouble making it 100% accurate. Left and right seems fairly accurate but Vertical height goes off just a tiny hair from top to bottom of the screen. If I play using the crosshairs I would n...

Re: NES SNAC Issue

I'll try the male connections from Ali Express. If they don't work I'll stick with cutting end off of extension cables when needed. I think the ones I ordered have to be the same length though since the pins come loose and I have to crimp and insert them. I would love to salvage the Advantage cable though because that is a double wire since the adv...

Re: NES SNAC Issue

Yeah I am using the short 6" cable that was an option when purchasing the SNAC-NES 2X. I actually just fixed the problem by de-soldering the original 2 player NES advantage cord and replacing it with 2 of the NES extension cables I was using in the test. I am convinced the issue was resistance based because the connectors were definitely makin...

Re: NES SNAC Issue

If I swap the ports in the NES core to other port works a little better but is still off. I ordered another NES SNAC adapter from you Monday. It should be arriving soon. It's weird and I am not convinced its a bad SNAC adapter. As I said a standard NES-004 controller works with an extension cable and the advantage won't. The advantage works in the ...

Re: Direct Video to Component pink screen Sony Trinitron display

I finally got my analog IO board and it works fine with the component cables and my Trinitron TV. I would really love to swap to the digital board and use direct video however. Interesting how my TV just doesn't like it.

NES SNAC Issue

I'm having a weird issue with NES SNAC using the Ultimate Mister SNAC-NES x2 Player. I am driving myself crazy trying to figure out the issue. I have an original NES to test all my controllers with so I can validate they are working. Part of the issue is I think there is a tolerance difference on the 3rd party female NES connector used on the SNAC ...

Re: Direct Video to Component pink screen Sony Trinitron display

I really don't want to use the analog IO board if I can avoid it because the digital board seems more future proof. I have no need to output both signals at the same time other than for testing. My goal isn't to just put a picture on the screen but to be compatible with light guns such as NES with the snac adapter. There is talk of cheaper HDMI to ...

Re: Direct Video to Component pink screen Sony Trinitron display

Thanks for the reply. The fix actually didn't work for me so my issue may be different. After reading the post I went and tested with an older build release_20220413 since the issue for the other person seemed to be new and I just started with Mister. I also tried with the fixed mister file using a fresh install of release_20221224 with no luck. I ...

Direct Video to Component pink screen Sony Trinitron display

I am trying to go from Direct Video HDMI to Component. I have used the Moread HDMI to VGA adapter with a Monoprice VGA to Component adapter and I am receiving a pink picture. The ypbpr=1 actually makes the picture look even more pink. Below are the settings I have tried. My best results have been with ypbpr=0 (off) and lowering the color settings o...
