A Couple of Set up Issues Wallpapers, Net Radio, Autofire

I've added a 'wallpaper' folder to the sd card and popped in three jpgs but I cannot cycle through ALL the added ones. Mister will show say one of them that I can cycle through alongside the standard ones and if I reboot it allows another one of mine but only one of them and so on? Also I have the music script and have added mp3's etc and a start u...

Re: DIY Folder Organisation Clean Up Unwanted Cores?

Thanks guys - two more Q's:

If I have understood correctly I can do the basic install/update all but run filters later to remove unwanted cores etc?

And can someone explain briefly what the favourites script allows exactly and how it works on Mister - cannot find much on this?

DIY Folder Organisation Clean Up Unwanted Cores?

Pleased to say I just got my MiSTer this week. Just gradually leaning my way but can I organise/edit folders with the sd card in windows to change folders around - ie create a sub-folder in say 'ARCADE' of Favourites or shooters etc? Can I do this for individual console cores too simply by cutting/pasting/copying etc or am I opening up problems? Or...

Re: Daemonbite Arduino Controller Adapter 2 Button And 6 Button?

Cheers, I understand I can connect more pins but what about the software side? Can it be modified to add the extra code?

Daemonbite Arduino Controller Adapter 2 Button And 6 Button?

Planning on putting together a Daemonbite arduino adapter for my original PC Engine Core Grafx pad to Mister.

Will the adapter also work with the Avenue 6 button SFII pad does anyone know please?

Re: Best Wired USB Sega Saturn Controller Clone and Other Controller Options

Thanks guys - is there a particular PSX to USB adapter that is better than others? Latency etc. And in the UK please?

Re: Best Wired USB Sega Saturn Controller Clone and Other Controller Options

Cheers guys - will look at that, a bit expensive here as imported from the US. Can anyone help with the other Q's? Also is it not possible to make Daemonbite work with an original PSX analogue controller as I cannot see it on github? And if I make a Daemonbite for the original NG 4 button stick can it also be used with an arcade type 6 button stick...

Best Wired USB Sega Saturn Controller Clone and Other Controller Options

I'm planning to make DaemonBite adapters for most of the controllers I own (SNES/NG/PCE etc) but I don't have a spare Sega Saturn controller and wondered if anyone could recommend a decent USB WIRED clone to save making another adapter? Also is it not possible to make Daemonbite work with an original PSX analogue controller as I cannot see it on gi...

Re: Starting Out With MiSTer From an Old School Collection

Thanks for continuing to help. Ah, I’m so out of touch. That’s literally all I need then and I can use with any core and remap buttons? Low lag too?

Am I right in thinking there is no Daemonbite for PlayStation? So, it has to be SNAX?

Need a New 32" LCD (UK Supplier) What to Look For?

[another old git moves from hardware gaming to MiSTer alert] BITD I was fully up with RBG/Scart/60 hz/import gaming and did plenty of hardware mods, RGB conversions etc but have to confess the modern choice of screens leaves me baffled as much as I read. This is purely for Mister (to replace a large console collection built up from 1990 to 2000 or ...

Re: Starting Out With MiSTer From an Old School Collection

Thanks - I'll need to make 6 I think?! Arcade (6 button fighter), Neo Geo, SFC, PCE, Saturn/MD, PSX.

I've never hacked an analogue pad (PSX above) - how does this work with an arduino adapter? With a normal joystick or pad you have a simple U/D/L/R microswitch or contact for the D pad or stick of course.

Re: Starting Out With MiSTer From an Old School Collection

Thanks TT - yes, I think the power splitter comes with the USB board from misterfpga? Coming back on the controller subject, I was watching this super helpful YT video from the brilliant Esoterica: https://youtu.be/4UM-nb3ZYOc That seems super simple with just one of those boards at £7 odd each for each controller and a few jumpers to a D plug. Is ...

Re: Starting Out With MiSTer From an Old School Collection

Daemonbite is quite flexible and cheap, plus you can DIY them. You'll need ports for all your controllers yes but some of the designs have multiple ports on one PCB. The one I DIY'd a while back has SNES, NES and DE9 (Mega Drive, Atari etc.) on the one adapter. That's interesting - I'm happy to mod hardware, just the file/software side I struggle ...

Re: Starting Out With MiSTer From an Old School Collection

Thanks guys, yes - watched about two weeks of MiSTer YT videos, read all the Wiki and more but you know how it is - until you get 'hands on' a lot of it doesn't sink in. :) I've been a RMC subscriber for a long time and applaud what they are doing but I really like the more common stack form factor and adaptability. Mouser UK yesterday told me the ...

Starting Out With MiSTer From an Old School Collection

Hi guys, can you help an old boy get up to date? :D I started gaming in the late 70's and used/collected most of the main consoles from the late 80's up to DC so circa 2000. Time marches on and hard as it is I've decided now is the time to sell up and go fpga. I've 11 pages of SFC/PCE/MD/N64/Saturn/PS/GB/NG MVS/DC hardware/games to shift somehow......
