Re: 0MHz DOS Collection 2024.03.20 Released
Has anyone here who's been creating their own games/packages been using the 'setname same_dir="1"' flag in their MGL files? I've created a few, and it's great for saving things like specific configs (obvously) but I think it also allows saving of custom keyboard to controller mappings? So if you remap the d-pad to the keyboard arrow keys ...

Re: 0MHz DOS Collection 2024.03.20 Released
I've already posted this in the github as an issue, but some people might find this useful. The following is a joystick-keyboard input mapper that works within DOS 7.1 that is used with the 0MHz collection: https://szanella.tripod.com/joyemueng.htm PS. I haven't noticed it in this thread (TBH I haven't followed it too closely) but is there an easy ...

Re: Join the beta test team (SFZero3)?!!!
I'm guessing something's accidentally broken when he updated his older cores? I did notice during update_all that a bunch of his cores were updated, so that might be it. Try the other cores by him (not just CPS2-based ones) and see if they do the same thing. Edit: Just renamed my jtbeta.zip (which removes that message for non-public cores) and my S...

Re: TurboGrafx 16 Changed Core Clock to 60hz
I tested it on my TV, and even though the refresh rate is showing 59.7Hz (instead of 60Hz, or the original core's 59.8Hz) my TV is able to sync with it perfectly now (without needing vsync_adjust at 0 or 1).
Can you share how you managed to do it? So I can do it in the future for any unstable core releases etc.

Thanks for this tip, definitely something I'm going to implement on my MiSTer (even if it is a little convoluted). Nice find!

Small request: Composite Blend filters w/ vertical scanlines
Hate to make requests for something that's already based around being free and open, but is it possible for there to be a composite blend filter that has vertical scanlines instead of horizontal? The horizontal filters that already exist look great (particularly for nullobject's Cave core), but I vastly prefer filters that have that slight blur to ...

Re: Stupid question: "Stereo Mix" option
Your latter assumption is correct. None is unaltered stereo. Imagine none as LEFT and RIGHT are mixed as LEFT is fully left and RIGHT is fully right. 100% is LEFT and RIGHT are mixed fully in the center. Everything in between is some percentage of that mix. This is mostly helpful when using headphones, especially for cores like the Amiga where the...

Stupid question: "Stereo Mix" option
I've come across this option in several cores, but still don't know exactly what it means (and I've searched everywhere for a definition). When it is set to "none", does that mean there's no stereo and it's only mono? Or does "none" mean that it doesn't mix either channel and they're both discrete ie. stereo?

Re: Atari Jaguar Core
Ash has been talking in the discord about working on the core again and some others are hopefully going to help him, so fingers crossed we see some progress. I have raised a ticket for the BIOS getter script to grab the jaguar BIOS, so hopefully they add that which would make things easier for people wanting to try out the core. https://github.com...

IremM62 core: Output buffer incorrect?
Is anyone else having an issue with most (if not all titles) using this core displaying incorrectly? It's most visible with shimmering when something is scrolling across the screen, or fonts that don't appear correctly. I think the output resolution doesn't match the buffer or something, and I'm sure I read someone else having this issue but couldn...

Re: Xbox Wireless Adapter Driver (xow) Ready for Testing
Seems to work great for me! Only problem I had was with the update script, where it was trying to detect the active user as 'MiSTer', but on mine for whatever reason it's 'root'. I just modified the script to remove those lines and it worked fine.

Re: Xbox Series/Core Controller
I have an Xbox Series (Core) (what terrible names!!) controller but I'm not sure I want to tear it open plus I don't know where the pads are to solder the buttons. However, I am the one who tested the Xbox Wireless Protocol ('now' driver) for latency which is fantastic so I am wondering about the new controller. I also need to see if Sorgelig will...

Re: CPS 1.5
If you're having those issues after updating, you might want to let Jotego know via Twitter that you're having a problem. I think he wants to know where you got your module from (and when), what the board layout is... I think that might be it. But it doesn't mean you module is faulty at all, just that it's not entirely compatible with how Jotego ha...

Re: AdLib Emulation - Missing Percussion?
I assume similar can be heard with the bundled AdLib Jukebox demo tunes, which I know almost from memory. I think I have them downloaded somewhere, I'll test them as well and let you know how I get on. I also wonder if the same problems happened with actual SB Pro hardware vs. AdLib? I can't imagine there's any difference, but I guess there could be.

I've very recently bought a 3DO and it's a great little machine. Too expensive when it came out, but that doesn't make it bad.

Re: Zipped MegaCD images?
CHD requires supporting FLAC for audio, and I have no idea how CD access works within an FPGA, doubtful it could handle decoding any kind of compressed audio. I'd say it's unlikely.

Re: Breakthrough for the ao486 core announced - Cache
I hate to be one to complain, but there's a difference in how joysticks are seen (I think) between the Cache41 build and the final build. For example, a USB joypad calibrates and works perfectly with Tempest 2000 with the older build, but with the new main one I don't think it registers inputs properly.

Does this still require the I/O board and/or a second microSD card for disk storage? Or will it use a VHD?

Re: Breakthrough for the ao486 core announced - Cache
Can anyone tell me if I'm missing something re building the latest dev commit? I download it and it builds in Quartus, but there's no RBF file. There's a SOF file which I think can be converted, but it says it's time-limited or something. Apologies if it's been brought up before, I hadn't noticed anything of it earlier. Edit: Ignore, it was address...

Is that different from the regular one? Again, really only want one for the buttons/LEDs and fan mount, don't need the extra ports etc.Sigismond0 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 17, 2020 3:37 pm Sounds like you might just be better off with the digital IO board.
Edit: That looks perfect in its bare form, and seems like it can be fully operational (for me) without having to solder unneeded parts/ports.

Can the IO board be constructed per function required?
Hi all,
Obviously a lot of cases make use of some features of the IO board, like the buttons and LEDs. My question is, is there a way of building/populating the board to only utilise these features (and the fan as well) without too much hassle? And if so, would it be a task an amateur solderer like myself could accomplish?
Thanks in advance!

Re: Gauntlet, Gauntlet II and Vindicators II
Not wanting to sound like I'm port begging, but it looks like these utilise similar hardware to the Atari System 1 which included Marble Madness and Road Blasters. Would I be far off in saying if Gauntlet etc. are working, these others are too?
