Re: Chicken and Egg problem, but with files

You may create adf by using winuae emulator? Or with linux one can mount adf files.

Then set up shared folder support, after that file transfers are easy.

Re: Transfering Commodore 128 Core

Cartridges that work on a real C64 but not a C128 are bound to not work on the C128 core as it is now either, regardless of the "pure" C64 settings. (In hindsight the word "pure" is overpromising.. I should have thought about that a bit more). Not sure if the Action Replay is supposed to work on a real C128. If it does, I shoul...

What is mm4? Motocross Madness? Might and Magic? Mad man? Mad Max?

Run mem /c to see how much memory you have free. Most probably game wants more conventional mem free, so you should load drivers high (himem.sys, emm386.exe, dos=high in config.sys and then decicehigh or loadhigh for all drivers).

See example https://www.computerhope.com/ac.htm

Re: Commodore 128 for the MiSTer?

I played Eye of Beholder recently with this core. Works very well (including mouse and turbo mode). I saved to disk, did not try saving to flash cart, probably does not work because c64 core does not support crt saves either. Only thing which does not seem to work is 80 column mode for automap, there is no picture when switching to VDC? It would be...

Re: Separate Audio Output with Digital IO Board

I don't understand how HDMI to VGA could possibly help. VGA doesn't carry audio. No, but hdmi does. And with hdmi to vga adapter with 3,5mm audio jack one can separate video and audio from hdmi connector. Something like this https://www.amazon.com/Cable-Matters-Adapter-Audio-Converter/dp/B008O7RH5C No need for io board. Just make sure that adapter...

Interesting. I haven't been able to get CP/M booting, but I only tried a .d81 disk image, that might be the difference. Can you point me to the .d64 image you used? I know the Z80 memory map is not entirely correct right now, which might cause the keyboard issue. I clearly need to do some debugging there. I used CPMfast Final package... cpmf3-1.d6...

Re: Commodore 128 for the MiSTer?

This is great! I was able to boot CP/M, but keyboard does not work. Just switched to 80col mode, booted with CPM (I tried with cpmf3-1.d64 disk which is modded CP/M fast for c128) and it booted correctly.

By the way, can D71 disk format be supported? There is quite a lot disks in that format especially for CP/M.

Re: No Sound "Siedler"

I have working sounds in Settlers when using "Creative Labs Sound Blaster(TM)" for FM music (do not use sb pro) and same card for FX effects.

Remember to set up IO address and IRQ as you have set them up (I believe defaults are Address 220 and 5 for IRQ)

Soundblaster PRO is not working.

Could you tell me about your setup? I tried this too, and no matter what I try, I cannot get it to run.

Re: Which one is faster - DVI vs VGA

There's no sense in favouring VGA over DVI with an LCD monitor. LCDs are natively digital, so stick to a digital input wherever possible. Only reason to favor VGA is if your monitor can handle different refresh rates differently via different connectors. At least on my 17" Eizo LCD one can only use 60hz refresh rate when DVI is in use, but vi...

I checked and yes it seems to bug out. This seems to be some kind of bug in 68020 (cache?) implementation, because if you change cpu to 68000 there is no glitch with same whdload game version. And by the way, I see massive graphics corruption also in Shadow of the Beast when running whdload version with 68020 cpu. With 68000 it also works fine. I a...

Although this core does not support mounting OS directory as real harddisk for Amiga (eg. you cannot use it to install OS itself), there is possibility to use Shared Folder functionality which is pretty much the same and can be used for transferring files.

In technical terms, what makes the core's current status more like an 'overclocked' DX and not a DX2 or DX4 if splitting hairs? I can copy zip file to shared folder, but I cannot read it from there anymore.

Re: Is there any hw/sw reason why memmaker is not able to change the memory configuration

This comes from memory so might be little bit off but anyway: Real dos machine does initialize ram as zeroes... ao486 does it with ff:s... or something like this... Now, memmaker relies this when it searches for not used upper memory blocks, and thus fails because it thinks that those memory ranges are in use already. This is same reason why emm386...
