Re: N64: To PAL or not to PAL?

On site evilgames.eu is a N64 60hz rom patch pack for PAL games. Maybe that ist an option. Gladly the author also clearly states what side effects can occur when running patched
games. This should be kept in mind.

Re: Linux Games

@bergalon
I reinstalled prboom from bbonds install base and it is working, also ScummVM and Basilisk. Did not test DosBox.
I also got somewhat cannonball running again by pointing the LD_LIBRARY_PATH to that one used in ScummVM, and the game is running, but without sound.

Can someone give me some tips how to make a super gameboy border?
The ones i made are all garbled and i don't know what causes it?
Is it the filesize or color space?

Feel free to send me a message.

BASIC Computer Games

There is a Github project that is dedicated to porting BASIC Games to other coding languages. I took the liberty and made the repo MiSTer friendly. Games are located at games/basic-computer-games and the start scripts under Scripts/BCG (can be accessed via MiSTer Menu). I chose the python ports, because you can use "Ctrl-D" to exit/termin...

Re: SSH Login ASCII Art

You can put a file called "motd" in /etc/.

You could use my motd.
https://github.com/jayp76/MiSTer_get_op ... /misc/motd

You probably have to recopy it everytime there is a mojor MiSTer Linux update.

Something similar is already been done in the MiSTer github as part of the MiSTer scripts called make_linux_nice.

Re: Only one joystick is detected using Pandora's box 3D

Did you try this in MiSTer.ini? Uncomment and put your vid & pid. ; Disable merging input devices. Use if only player 1 works. ; Leave no_merge_pid empty to apply this to all devices with the same VID. ;no_merge_vid=0x045E ;no_merge_pid=0x028E ; Same as above but can add multiple devices (one entry per VIDPID). Format is VIDPID in hex number ;n...

Re: Cheap Bluetooth Controller "Bestoff" Pro Controller

Designwise they are not comparable in my opinion, the 8bitdo's are much sleeker and look like good quality. But yeah, all clone controllers rip off themselves. The market is flooded with them.

Cheap Bluetooth Controller "Bestoff" Pro Controller

I bought this controller just for fun. The price and the controller body intrigued me. The small bumps on the back of the handles feel nice and you have a good grip. It is primarily a 3rd Party Switch controller. https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B082PNTBCB/ Here is the best part. In Switch "Pro Controller" mode it cannot be paired with Mi...

u-boot.txt parameters

Hello,

how can i check which u-boot.txt parameters are available on the MiSTer system, besides ethaddr and the fast usb polling.
On raspi there is dcw_otg.speed, is there any equivalent for this on MiSTer?

Best regards

Possible to use other SBC instead of HPS?

This is just a question out of curiosity.
Is it possible to use another SBC with more power/cores instead of the HPS by interfacing it over GPIO and putting the DE10 nano into EPCS mode?
I am no developer, but eager to learn what's possible.

Best regards

I have finally figured it out. I don't have to use the bootloader part. I just have to compile and upload the sketch. I double checked by changing the serial number part in the code. Thanks for helping.

Help Update DaemonByte Fails [Solved]

Hi, long ago i build a daemonbyte adapter for Sega genesis and it works nicely. I wanted to update the latest files, but i forgot what i have to use in the Arduino software to flash it. What do i select as "Board" and what do i choose as "Programmer"? The Board is connected to COM3. I tried several options, but it fails. avrdude...

Re: Linux Games

For now you can put a Games folder inside your Scripts folder and put the launchers (PrBoom-Plus_2_5_1_5.sh) into Games folder.
It is tidier and it appears at the top of the Scripts list.

Button Mapping in Terminal/Ported Games

I have a question regarding the gamepad button mapping inside the terminal or the ported linux games like Scummvm. It seems that the menu back button is active in terminal mode and acts like escape. If your buttons are mapped like for e.g SNES and use "A" as conform/OK and "B" as Menu back, then ScummVM exits when pressing "...

Re: Updater Script Fetching Latest MiSTer.ini

Thank you for your example. In this case the user has to do it itself. Shouldn't it be mandatory for the users that are not that savvy with the scripts? Just my two cents. If it is documented in the wiki or github i can live with it.

Updater Script Fetching Latest MiSTer.ini

@Locutus73 Hello, i see often people online having no MiSTer.ini or an outdated MiSTer.ini with missing options. My idea was to have a user.ini, which retains the user settings and supersedes the MiSTer.ini options, while the updater always fetches the latest one. But this has to be integrated into the MiSTer OS. This is not my request. Alternative...
